  Dr.Shelby Scanlin she is the bomb!! We went to a couple of vets before I went to them at Gulf Coast. I was very pleased with the doctor. She was honest about everything about our baby Rico. He wasn’t doing good. He was not able to really walk. He was stumbling having problems and she figured it out and gave him steroids and now my dog is doing much much better. She actually save our babies life. I’m so pleased with her. We still have a long way to go, but he’s doing a lot better running around being active just being his plain self thank you so much.. Gulf Coast Veterinarian specialist and all your team are wonderful. I recommend this place anytime of the day or night. They will help your baby out the way they help mine.   We were recently referred for a neurologist consultation for our sweet girl. While we got the worst news, it was delivered with so much kindness and compassion. Dr. Shelby Scanlin while a young resident was amazing and took great care of my girl. She was very thorough and took time and answered all my questions and set realistic outcomes for our future. Our tech Brenda, there are no words. She took great care of us, made sure we were comfortable and sat with me as I cried. I strongly recommend going here for specialist care.

  I am blown away by the compassion and quality of care my pet received. She has been going to a different vet for months due to bladder stones and I was constantly bringing her to an emergency vet located close by. They recommended Gulf Coast and I can not be more appreciative for all of the staff. I had an appointment scheduled, but had to bring her in the night before due to an emergency. I do not remember the emergency doctor's name who saw her, but I've never felt so at ease leaving one of my sick piggies for treatment. I was relieved knowing she was in good hands, although a scary situation. The next day she saw Dr magnotti, and I spoke with her over the phone regarding my baby. Never in my life have I had a vet listen to what I said to the level of which she did. I'm honestly blown away, she is truly a special veterinarian. She answered ALL of my questions and focused on my piggies quality of life ( which is what I've been asking other vets to do). I can't express my gratitude to her, she is full of knowledge and we came up with a plan prioritizing my piggies life. I really recommend anyone with an exotic pet to use Gulf Coast, they are not cheap, but the amount of money i spent looking for answers is way more than what Dr magnotti discovered in one appointment. I will be returning with all of my exotic pets in the future, and again I can not thank Gulf Coast enough. They are truly a breath of fresh air in the exotic veterinary community 💞

  In the last 45 days I’ve lost both my babies, one to cancer and my baby girl to a stroke. We visited the ER more times than I’d like in the last few months but I am comforted in knowing that my babies had excellent care in their final weeks and even as they took their final breaths. The staff were incredibly compassionate and very communicative during our visits. I’d also like to add that the staff in Internal Medicine were so amazing in listening to our concerns and trying their absolute best to help my baby girl.

  I waited just over a month for this appointment to see a Veterinary Dermatology Specialist and I was not disappointed. I arrived early because I didn’t want to be late! Even though I was early they got me and my Poppy in right away. First being interviewed by a vet tech, who was so engaged with our reason to be there which made me realize how much they care for the animals they are treating. Jennifer I believe her name was, took Poppy from me to go weigh her and do a few other checks. Poppy was brought back to me and soon Dr. Canning came in. He knew right away what Poppy’s condition was and what could/could not be done for it. After waiting so long for this appointment I was so pleased that Dr. Canning took so much time with me and Poppy. He talked with me for a long time and answered all of my many questions. Just like Jennifer, I could tell that Dr. Canning truly cared for his patients and their owners. I was very, very impressed with everyone here at this location on the Katy Freeway. Everyone was just as friendly as could be. We filled some RX’s for Poppy and even the pharmacy staff were kind and loving on Poppy. Not that I want to go back again, because I want Poppy to be well but with the care she got here, this is the place to go.
