Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is the best. I’ve had pets for a long time, including one dog who was a total medical lemon, so I’ve been to many an emergency vet over the years and I’ve now been to VEG three times this year with my crazy puppy (swallowed stuff she shouldn’t have a couple times and most recently a nasty cut at the park). VEG is such a nice change from the normal model. I love being able to stay with my pet the entire time- including being given a pillow and blanket when my dog had to stay overnight. The techs and vet are kind enough to crouch down and work on the floor when my dog lays down to put her head in my lap. It is very clear everyone is focused on making the animals as comfortable as possible- coming to them instead of forcing them onto tables or isolating them in back rooms. I also like being able to see what else is happening- it’s a good reminder that emergency vets have actual emergencies and waiting a bit means your pet isn’t the worst off. Everyone there is always incredibly pleasant, even when dealing with high stress situations. And we have always been seen quickly, with visits being very reasonable for a walk-in emergency. Certainly faster than a human ER. All costs are clearly discussed ahead of time with VEG being really good about working out solutions that work for your budget. Invoices are also emailed promptly and are clearly itemized- making pet insurance claims easy. Overall I’m incredibly glad VEG has come to Houston. It’s a comfort to have a reliable and kind place to go when your pet is sick or hurt.

We just had to put down our dog, a recent stray we called Miss Wiggles. She got in a fight with street dogs, and she was injured badly. Stopped eating and just slept. Brought her in to VEG on Katy Fwy., and the entire crew of ladies there rocked it. From the front receptionist to the techs to the doc to the end care tech, They cared for our Wiggles and us. The staff insisted that we stay with her throughout the entire process but the X-ray. That was calming for both us and her. But her injuries were too severe, and the doc told us straight. I hate our ending, but I prayed that God took her for us and will keep her happy till we meet her again. And I pray that the team is able to save all of your fur babies.

The staff here are got sent amazing. This is the only place I can say that actually care about your pets!! They saved my baby and they were all so supportive, caring and extremely helpful.❤️ They even sent me a message afterwards asking how my dog was doing. 🥹 So sweet!

I took Beanie, my 15 year old cat here yesterday night while he was on his death bed. The team rushed to help and took care us immediately and had us in a private room to say goodbye to my boy within minutes. No one could save him in that condition and we knew he was ready to say goodbye, and I'm glad we brought him to this place. I hope and pray no one ever has a pet emergency. But if you do, I would definitely recommend going here, especially if you know they are ready to say goodbye and you don't want to prolong their suffering. Thank you for being my Beanie's final destination and treating him with compassion and keeping him as comfortable as possible in his final moments.

All the staff was very empathetic, knowledgeable, and kind. We stayed at the hospital with Lola and we saw how caring they were with all the pets. I will always remember with a big smile how happy they were when one of the pets finally ate the food they provided. Kudos to Kimberly and Daniela.
