Vanguard Veterinary Clinic

I went to their mobile clinic in Austin HEB slaughter location to get heartworm meditation for my dog. A blood test was required for this. The vet tech was unable to locate a vein and punctured multiple legs, multiple times until my dog was crying loudly. Then she said "I will get someone who is better at this" and the next vet tech was able to find a vein and get blood immediately. A fraction of their employees seem to lack training and experience; saving money at the expense of trained staff isn't worth it. I still feel sad my dog had to go through this.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The tech that cared for my 2 fur babies was quick to draw blood from my Thor, Bella was a bit challenging, but she was patient and quick. We were in and out. I highly recommend this place for your pets.

Dr. Navarro and his team are amazing. My dear beloved dog was suffering from digestive issues which was subsequently diagnosed as Pyometra since she was intact. He did his best to treat her; but the infection was too far spread and she succumbed to the infection. They were so compassionate and took the time to explain everything to me in a caring manner. Thank you Angel for the consistent follow ups, as she sensed my anxiety as I had never boarded my pet in our ten years together. I only wish they caught on to her pneumonia the day before she passed and was in the office, but she was just so weak with multiple complications, Dr. Navarro did his best to give her the best chances, she just wasn’t able to survive. Great group all around ❤️

I really loved my experience at this clinic! My peanut was so well cared for!! The staff is friendly and so caring! Dr. Navarro is very attentive and gave thorough explanations to my questions. The clinic is very clean and I personally loved the animal pop art. The prices are very affordable! They are cheaper than chewy!! Peanut and I have found our new vet!! Thank you!!

My family and I have been taking our pets here for years and are always treated so well. I adopted a chug last summer and decided to have him nuetered. Dr. Navarro performed his surgery and explained to me how the procedure would go and answered every question I had. Really put my mind at ease since he’s my first fur baby I’ve taken care of on my own. The techs and front desk staff are also very friendly and informative.
