How Much Does Mobile Dog Grooming Cost?
Mobile Pet Grooming · Updated · 5 min read
Most mobile dog groomers charge between $75 and $160 for a full groom. Where your dog lands in that range depends on size, coat, temperament and how far the van drives to reach you.
Typical prices by dog size
- Small dogs (under 20 lb): $75 to $100 for a bath, haircut, nails and ears.
- Medium dogs (20 to 50 lb): $90 to $125.
- Large dogs (50 to 90 lb): $110 to $150.
- Giant or double-coated breeds: $140 to $200 or more, especially for de-shedding.
- Cats: $90 to $150, with lion cuts at the top of the range.
A bath-only visit with nails is usually $20 to $40 less than a full groom. Add-ons such as teeth brushing, blueberry facials or flea baths typically run $10 to $25 each.
Why mobile grooming costs more than a salon
A grooming van is a salon on wheels: a water tank and heater, a generator, a hydraulic table and dryers, plus fuel and insurance. The groomer also handles one pet at a time instead of several in parallel. That is the trade: you pay 20 to 40 percent more and your dog gets a calm, one-on-one appointment with no crate time.
What changes the quote
- Coat condition. Matting takes longer to remove safely and often adds a fee.
- Behavior. Anxious or reactive dogs may need extra time or two shorter visits.
- Distance. Some groomers add a trip fee outside their core service area.
- Number of pets. Many groomers discount the second pet in the same driveway.
- Frequency. Regulars on a four to six week schedule often get better rates.
Questions to ask before you book
- Is the price all-inclusive, or are nails, ears and gland expression extra?
- Do you charge a travel fee for my address?
- What happens if my dog is matted or nervous on the day?
- What is your cancellation policy?
