Well I didn't have "hair wrapped around nipple" on my dog's potential health issues but thankfully the amazing staff was able to help us out. For reasons unknown to me, my dog Harlee managed to get hair tightly wound around her nipple with a little sap. I figured she was just in a heat cycle so didn't have much concern with her grooming. Until I saw a much larger nipple protruding. I tried the best I could to soak her belly with a warm cloth and remove what I could. I called to see if the care team could help me, and they not only confirmed this was a first for them- but they could help. I'm glad I brought her in to be seen and I feel reassured that I couldn't remove it on my own. Walking away from a minimal wait time and small bill was so worthwhile. I recommend them for any emergency animal needs. Thank you everyone! I hope not to come back soon, but I will if need be.

When my older dog had a neurological emergency in March 2024, they were wonderful. My niece came with me and sadly we decided to euthanize my sweet girl. The vet and staff were so informative and supportive of all of the options we had, and ultimately I chose not to let her suffer further as I knew a true recovery was not in the cards at her age. I deeply appreciated the extra time we were given and the compassion every one expressed.

♡♡WHEN I WROTE THIS REVIEW THIS EMERGENCY VET WAS NOT BLUE PEARL. I HATE BLUE PEARL!!! THEY ARE OWNED BY MARS PET FOOD/CANDY BARS AND ARE EXACTLY THE REASON WHY ALL VET PLACES PRICES ARE GOING WAY WAY UP!! THESE CORPORATE GARBAGE COMPANIES ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY AND BLUE PEARL GIVES COMMISSIONS TO EMPLOYEES AND DOCTORS TO UPSELL YOU SERVICES LABS TESTS ETC YOU DON'T NEED!! I AM CHANGING MY REVIEW TO 1 🌟 ♡♡ My senior rescue pomeranian was in so much pain and it literally happened out of nowhere at eleven o'clock at night. She was in so much pain she was shaking and practically convulsing. I live in Yelm and called everywhere from Tacoma to Puyallup to Olympia and all surrounding areas. Then I saw Olympia Veterinary Specialist pop up and decided to give them a call. I couldn't believe my luck or maybe it was intervention from God but they had no wait time and said bring her in now. Everywhere else either wasn't accepting any more patients or 6 plus hours of wait time. I brought her right in and they saw her immediately!! Only downside was they don't have any receptionist at night so you have to hand your pet over and wait in the car. I don't like that. Covid has been over for a long time. I was really nervous that they were going to try and run a bunch of tests and take x-rays and whatever other expensive tests they could run to get the cost up especially with me not being right there, but they didn't. Dr Edward's was amazing and had her diagnosed and back in the car in less than 40 minutes!! It was $200 just for the visit and with meds it was under $300. Cheapest emergency vet bill I ever had. I took her to her regular vet the next day who confirmed the diagnosis and after a visit to the chiropractor my girl is back to normal. Highly recommend this place and Dr Edwards. Thank you!!

We called about some kittens we rescued asking for medical care. The staff had us come in and convinced us to sign a Good Samaritan sheet to sign over the kittens and have us pick them up at the local shelter. We stayed in contact with the shelter for two days and we found out that they weren’t going to the shelter. When we called to try to get them back as promised we were told they were adopted out. One of the four was relinquished without my permission and I wanted him back. It was difficult to get a straight answer from the staff as someone we talked to was very rude. We were then told that they weren’t adopted and were still at the clinic. Jessica was the most helpful and understanding person we talked to. I got one of my kittens back and asked if they ever got treatment and they said no. They are 6 weeks old full of worms and flea infested and got no treatment for 2 days. We were promised that they weren’t going to get taken care of, and they weren’t. It took a lot to get them back and when we went to pick them up they were in a used Amazon box… One of the kittens had tape around his neck that ended up pulling out some of his hair. It had a name on it saying they wanted him.

I had a scary situation with my sweet dog. The nurse who came out to check on us made me feel so comfortable and was attentively listening and comforting my dog. She took him back to assess him and shortly after the doctor updated me on his condition. They was very thorough. Made suggestions and presented different options for me. I hated that I had to go in there but was so grateful for them and their care. Hopefully I never have to go back but know if I have to, we will be in good hands. If anyone else is in a situation that your loved pet needs care, please take them here. They are so knowledgeable and attentive.
