As a new pet owner the last thing I wished to happen was my kitten to get sick. It happened in a matter of hours, my kitten was lethargic and throwing up. Instantly my mind was rushing with the worst possible outcomes. I immediately looked up the nearest emergency vet and was unfortunately turned away twice due to capacity issues, when I was given information about this specific clinic. I waited patiently and at first I was a mess, but eventually the team gave me a sense of calmness because I knew they would take great care of him. I recommend this clinic to anyone in a tight spot that needs warm and gentle care with people who have high anxiety about emergency visits. They were very transparent with care options and checked in to see any changes to my fur baby. I would also like to give all the flowers and recognition to Dr. Morgen Dugan for being an exceptional provider for my kitten. I would also like to shower the entire team, from the check in counter to the vet teach triaging my kitten, you guys are the driving force and the difference between a good and great experience! Excellent Avian and Exotic Care - normal client and urgent Just a shout out and recommendation for Tacoma BluePearl, Dr Kristin Gill, the radiology section, the techs and front desk. Once again, Dr Gill and everyone came together to provide top notch avian care to one of my parrots. My regular avian vet doesn't have the same level of diagnostic equipment, so when more is needed, I book with TBP, knowing my pet will receive excellent, knowledgeable, ethical and cost conscious care. Dr Gill is very compassionate as well as skilled, and I value those both very much, as well as a kind "bedside manner"; she is able to articulate least invasive courses of action, and also completely willing to delineate the costs and risks of them all. I never have unanswered questions before anything is done with my bird, and I am kept fully aware of how procedures or testing are going. Very few avian exotic places have the full hospital and emergency array of diagnostics and in-house specialists at their disposal, which I truly appreciate having access to for care of my birds, but it wouldn't be the same without Dr Gill there! And if my regular exotics vet ever leaves their full time practice, I am packing up the flock and moving full time to Dr GIll. You can get a scheduled appointment in a very timely manner, and calls are returned efficiently. Like all things avian and exotic related, it's not cheap, but the quality of care really is worth it and it shows. Keep in mind that avians and exotics can be seen for urgent appointments, but always call first - Blue Pearl is open 24/7 but Dr Gill is the only avian exotic vet and she can't live there. All the staff is genuinely nice and even remembers clients that have been there just a few times (or maybe my flock sticks out a lot). Their kindness and sunny disposition is always welcome and appreciated. They do accept Care Credit too, which is nice. The facility is clean, the waiting area is comfortable and the overall ambiance is calm. 5/5 stars for sure. You can trust your bird’s (not just parrots!) care to Dr Gill.

My dog Wilson was very very sick. They treated us with the most respect and compassion. We ended up having to put him down on 9/11/2024 which broke my heart but they were very compassionate. They took very good care of my dog. When we opened the door they rushed him in the back like he was so special when we were getting ready to put him to sleep. They brought him in on a fluffy blanket with his head on a pillow they took and made him feel like once again he was very special. He always will be for me. Thank you to the staff and the doctor of Blue Pearl pet Hospital.

My pup went from vomiting and getting an ultrasound that showed a gallbladder mucocele and I was referred to blue pearl in Lakewood for an emergency surgery. Upon arrival they found her gallbladder ruptured making it an even bigger emergency. They moved quickly and competently. Her chances were 50/50. My Ruby was in the ICU for two days. They loved her like their own, the Physician called me twice a day with updates and nursing staff sent photos and I was able to visit anytime. My 12.5 year old baby proved she was a fighter and I couldn’t be more grateful to still have her by my side. Thank you Dr. Perry and Dr. Schmitz as well as Nursing and Clinical staff!! I highly recommend this team!!

Early Friday morning I brought my 4 month old puppy into BluePearl in a real panic, he was essentially non responsive and drooling SO much. The absolutely amazing nurses there swooped my boy up and got him care immediately. They found he had ingested not one but TWO christmas ornament hooks blocking his stomach up. they found me a list of veterinary hospitals that would be able to do the emergency surgery he needed for a quarter of the cost it would have been to take care of in the emergency room. they explained how care credit worked to me and showed ME so much care during this stressful time. My boy ended up getting his surgery at Pinehurst which was recommended through them and they were amazing as well! they then took Motley back that same night for overnight monitoring to keep him safe after surgery! every staff member i worked with was phenomenal and im so grateful for them! (thank you for not getting annoyed when i called 100 times post surgery to ask questions!)
