have had a lot of animals and been through a lot of vets. This one is by far the best. I found them in a time of need for my cat and they were there for me again in a time of need for my dog. Everyone that works there is so kind and caring. I have had the most amazing experience with them. They will be my forever vet from her on out and I will recommend them 10/10
I've waited a little while to leave this review because I wanted to see the outcome of my dog surgery. This vet did not do the surgery. Everybody here was very friendly, it's a very nice clean office, and they got me in quickly. However, I brought my senior golden in for a giant cyst on her neck. They gave me a quote of almost $2,000 for the blood work and imaging required before they would do the surgery. I didn't have that kind of money, and I don't know many people who do. They also told me that they believed that she had mammory tumors despite me letting them know that she had recently had another procedure that was likely causing what they were feeling (due to hormone fluctuations) according to the vet that did that procedure. So I decided to decline, and they told me that it was likely best for my dog if I let her go, that she's a senior and since I wasn't going to do the Imaging that it would be best for her to be humanely euthanized. They were very kind about it but I knew in my soul that she wasn't ready to go. She has always been unbelievably healthy and this is her second trip to the vet for a problem her entire life. I decided to take her to the vet in Tooele and he performed the surgery that she needed plus lab work for just over $700. I would never put a dollar amount on my dog's life, never. But I cannot comprehend that cost difference, and I cannot justify thousands of dollars for a surgery that I could have done for a quarter of the cost. I have kids as well. I waited because I needed to know if they were right, would it have been better to let her go? Was I wrong? And the answer is no, it wouldn't have been, she is so happy now and she's even keeping up with my two-year-old dog they wrestle and play now and she was definitely not doing that before. Her only issue now is a little bit of arthritis pain and he helped her with that as well. I'm ABSOLUTELY not saying not to take your pet here. I'm not saying that they're not good vets. I am positive that they're amazing and good at what they do. I'm just saying listen to your gut and listen to your pet.
I had an excellent experience. I was given options for treatment, how each treatment differed, and what to look for when choosing an option. My dog is my baby and he was treated like family by the vet and the other staff. It wasn't to expensive either, I was expecting to pay a lot more then I did.
Staff was kind and attentive from my first call. They found an issue that was not fully addressed by the emergency vet and treated it immediately. They even trimmed my dogs nails while he was sedated from his procedure since he is scared of the clippers. Prices are reasonable and they absolutely care about your pets.
The staff was friendly and efficient and even though our dog doesn't like going to the vet (I haven't met a dog yet who does) they made him as comfortable as possible and treated him gently. The pricing for services (vaccine boosters on this trip) also seems fair and affordable. The Veterinarian was also very thorough double checking the medication our dog takes and giving us all the options for follow ups and the like. We love Hunter Animal Hospital!
