I wish I could give 0 stars… I took my dog here almost a year ago in October at about 12 or 1 in the morning…he had been throwing up constantly and peeing himself.. he was a 3 year old pitbull. He was my world. The vets were super sweet and helpful but then it was time for Melly to see the doctor and they took him back to do an “exam” which that alone cost 200$ mind you im in an extremely vulnerable state just trying to save my baby’s life… he came back and said “yeah he’s gonna need surgery” went through all of the paperwork and gave me the cost which was almost 4,000$ I was shy maybe 200$ my dog was dying, I put every single cent in my name on the table counted it in front of him and begged him to please go through with the surgery and when I pick him up in the morning I’ll have the money… since he did tell me wasn’t going to make it that night if he didn’t have the surgery & he was also smirking at the fact that I laid all of my money out and was extremely vulnerable.. then said he can’t do it & he’s sorry but he can give him something for his pain. Which at that point I was open to ANYTHING to keep him out of pain. That was it. My baby died the following day when that veterinarian could have EASILY saved his life. I will never ever forget how inhumane that vet was and I asked him how many years he’d been doing this and he said well over 16 years.. it took me almost a year to write this because I am still extremely heartbroken. If you’re trying to save your baby’s life DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. The vet truly only cares about the money… not about the animal at all.
My girl woke up vomiting the other day, sick not eating and painful. Took her In and she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. There is a medication available that treats this illness very quickly. This is important because pancreatitis can be life threatening. We called around to several other clinics and AER was the only one that had what she needed. My girl is back to her old self. We are very grateful to AER for being there when it was needed.
My cat passed away at home of old age but I called around San Antonio and this place was the most reasonable for cremation. Upon arrival they come outside and up to your car to ask what the reason for the visit is.they were very fast too! I dont remember her name but there was a lady there with red hair working the front of the clinic and she was so kind and comforting after having just lost my cat. She went over the cremation options and costs with me and even asked if I wanted some extra time with my cat.
I foster for ACS and had brought Bruizer in because he was super sick, tired, lost his eye sight and nothing but skin and bones. This team did a fantastic job and I wanted to say thank you! Because of you Bruizer is now a healthy, chunky, happy, playful dog who regained his eyesight. You guys do gods work and deserve credit for saving these babies. Thank you again
Our dog was mauled by another dog yesterday so we rushed her to the AER where Dr David McGookey and his staff saw her and triaged her immediately. Dr McGookey explained what was potentially going on with her and what their recommended treatment would be to include an estimated cost which was very reasonable. They treated her and kept her for 6 hours of observation after which we picked her up and she was looking much better after being so severely traumatized. The final bill was spot on what they initially estimated it to be. It was worth the extra drive time to take her to the AER. Now we will follow up with our regular vet. These folks were great. Highly recommend them.
