I've contemplated on writing a review but it has been since April and the mishandling of my dog still weighs on me everyday. I brought my dying Bull Mastiff in on April 23rd to be put down. The front desk told my husband that the ladies would bring a table out to my car to bring him inside. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and instead they brought a blanket. My husband asked where's the table and they saw that my dog was already wrapped in a blanket and insisted on carry him in with that only. My dog was easily 150 lbs if not more. Well guess what, the girl carrying the end with his head dropped him! And he had a seizure and peed himself. The look on my dogs face that he gave me in his last final moments is something that will forever haunt me. They apologized but that's not good enough. If I wasn't so distraught I would have not paid and would have exploded, but I needed to remain calm for my dogs final moments. NEXT TIME USE THE DAMN TABLE, DO NOT TRY AND DO SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE CLEARLY NOT CAPABLE OF!
My family and I are so grateful for the excellent care they gave to our Honey (cat) after she swallowed something she shouldn't have. We rushed in from Chatham around 9pm and by 2 am she was out of surgery and resting. They were friendly and very sympathetic to our situation. Updated on her condition every few hours. We were able to visit. It was such a relief to know that they were there.
My dog was priority 1, open wound from surgery… stitches came off. They told us to sit and wait till after a surgery and she was next. 5 hours later, we’re still sitting and waiting and now this wound has dramatically increased. Fluid is leaking constantly out of her. I’m so sad this is the care they have for animals at this facility!! We covered her with a blanket and scared she will now have a huge infection.
We brought my moms beautiful cat Peanut to the Walker Road Animal Hospital Saturday night at 730 pm as she was unable to pee/poo for over 3 days for the second time and obviously not well. We waited all night in the animal hospital, and still hadn’t been seen by the veterinarian by 7 am. We realize other emergencies went first but in that time period a 5 minute meeting with the doctor would have been appreciated. I begged to have a room so that Peanut could get out of her little cage and at least stretch and maybe try to urinate. We decided on our own to put Peanut down as her breathing was rapid and still was never seen the receptionist gave us prices but a meeting with the veterinarian for a few minutes after all of that time should have been granted. There were several people waiting over 12 hours to see a veterinarian. The veterinarian only came in to give her the final injection. They should have let us know the extensive wait in advance and a proper triage on arrival. The sedation took 20 minutes which was ridiculous to have to watch her go down like that.
Thank you to the amazing staff here at walker road animal hospital. We had to bring our fur baby in jan 21.25. Unfortunately our fur baby had to be put down. The staff was very caring and compassionate during this difficult time. Highly recommend walker road animal hospital.
