I’ve had my pups in and out of this place several times and every time has been an amazing and easy flowing experience! The staff is super helpful and extremely well educated! My pups are seen right away and cared for! As someone who works in the veterinary field I’ve always been very pleased with Bay Area and their services and staff! Pics of the accident prone pups they’ve seen!
Our much loved cat Luna was too feeble to go on, so I made the difficult decision many loving pet owners face. Emily guided me through the process at the hospital and was very compassionate and caring. Dr. Rogers was also very kind and did the final deed. I have been to this hospital twice and both times received wonderful care. I believe you can feel comfortable going here even for the sad end of a lovely animal friend.
Bay Area Pet Hospital made a lot of awful choices during their care for my Corgi dog in his final two days of his short 5 year life. They NEVER offered me my dog's tags and collar when he was euthanized. They said if I wanted them I should have asked. This is what they do for a living. I can't be the first person to want their dog's collar and tags back when their pet passes away. This is awful treatment, and Dr. Karen admitted this is not typical practice in a veterinary clinic. But beware, it is at the Bay Area Pet Hospital, if your animal dies, they don't care to even return your animals belongings to you. Be known you are a means to money and you and your pet don't truly matter here. During his stay, a doctor called me FRANTIC and continually called my dog a she/her, when he was a male dog. They wanted a large sum of money to do exploratory surgery to try to save his life, but I felt uncomfortable handing over thousands of dollars to a veterinarian professional that spoke so frantically and couldn't even get the sex of my pet correct after being corrected three times in a single phone call. When it came time to euthanize my dog, I asked the gal her name, she didn't respond, and I asked again, and her response was "I heard you." in a mean tone of voice, and I was like, WOW. I didn't care for her attitude, as I was upset to be putting my dog asleep. Then when I went to pick up my cremated dog in a bag, the front desk person could not find him. When she finally found him, she handed me his bag and joked, "He was so close, he could have reached out and bit me." And she laughed. I was disgusted, as a joke at that moment was extremely inappropriate. When I got him home, his collar and tags were missing from the bag. I called the vet and the person that answered the phone completely shrugged me off, "I don't see it, if I have time to look and I find it, I'll call you back." Click. They totally didn't care at all and completely shrugged me off. The woman had ZERO intentions of following up or calling me back. I called back four times, talked to a manager, Dr. Karen, who eventually told me that they cremated my dog with his collar and tags. I was NEVER offered to have his collar and tags back. I cannot be the first person who wants their dog's collar and tags back. This is their line of business and I am shocked to not even be OFFERED my pets ONLY belongings that he wore his entire life?!?! That's like throwing away a deceased person's jewelry without asking the family if they would like to have it back. I am still in shock over this. This is supposed to be a loving and caring animal hospital. But honestly it did not feel like they cared about me or my dog. They cared A LOT about making money and were sure to collect every penny BEFORE even ALLOWING me to see my dog when I went to euthanize him that day, which I thought was awful too. I wanted every possible moment with my boy. I am so sad that this is our town's ONLY choice for after hours emergency pet care. This has been beyond a devastating experience due to the behavior of most of the staff at this animal hospital. Shame on you. It is already hard enough to go through a traumatic family loss. Our town and our beloved family members deserve better care and better treatment. Especially for the amount of money that they charge; I honestly would expect the best care. They HAVE TO do better than this. Please, have some caring and grace in times like these for the pets and people you serve in your community. This hospital clearly doesn't understand what our beloved pet family members mean to us and how to treat those who experience a loss.
Came in on a snowy day, waited maybe 10 minutes in the lobby before I was in the back and my cat being taken care. Very gentle. Explained every step of the way and made sure I understood what was going on and how I wanted to proceed forward. The doctor was amazing. I hope I never have to return but if I do I hope to get him again. Booger Ray Leonard and myself thank you for the entire staffs help
I took my little one to the clinic tonight and wasn’t sure what to expect given the varying range of reviews. But the clinic exceeded all of my expectations. Everyone from the front desk to the techs and vets were all super nice and so kind to my little girl. They presented options for treatments and recommended a course of action that started with the least intrusive and cost effective approach first. I’m back home with my girl and she is feeling much better already. We love our regular vet but I wouldn’t hesitate in an emergency to take any of my fur babies there again.
