Horribly inflated bills, but most importantly, care every 12 hours due to many travel vets, and temp staff was beyond frustrating. One vet said I need 15k surgery and the next day, my dog was going home, only to be brought back because drain was removed and entire shoulder bone was exposed. Emotional rollercoaster. Two vet techs Megan and Michael were amazing. I feel bad for the owner who still works there who sold it to Thrive…I think she is heartbroken on so many stories of patients and their animals surfacing right now.
On day three of an extended family trip our dog (at home) broke her leg. Dr. Gellasch was able to see her the next day and operate the day after, and through all of this she and her team have done a wonderful job of communicating with us and with the friends who are filling in and taking care of our poor pup in our absence. I am so appreciative of the prompt attention we received and the excellent care Lily was given.
We came in with our cat Kevin who was wheezing and struggling to breathe. When the vet gave us a quote for treatment, we knew we couldn’t move forward. When we were honest about the financial barrier, the doctor still gave him the bare minimum treatment and recommended options for us in the area that she has professional connections with. If Kevin is dealing something that’s going to take daily treatment for the foreseeable future, we need a more affordable option and the vet here did everything in her power to hook us up. Definitely recommend!
I brought our cat in on a Sunday. She had been missing for 20 days, and turned up early Sunday morning. We wanted to have her looked at ASAP to ensure there was nothing wrong and it was safe to have her around our children and other pets. CARE was understaffed on that day, but they still made time to see her quickly, giving her an examination and recommendation on how to safely reintroduce her to the other animals. Thankfully, there were not any issues with our cat, and since it was a quick and easy exam they did not even charge. A big thanks to their team for quick, after hours care.
Our 2 year old cat ate something she shouldn’t have and it became stuck in her intestines. After visits to two other vets, we were faced with a surgery we couldn’t afford and a vet that would rather send her home with us to suffer/die than offer humane euthanasia. We ended up at CARE and met with Dr. Cynthia Loveland. She listened all that we had been through and compassionately presented us with realistic options. We were connected with a low-cost surgery center and our cat had a successful surgery. If it had not been for CARE and Dr. Loveland, we would not be home with our furbaby tonight. We cannot thank them enough for their care and consideration in a very difficult time.
