At a time where we felt devastated for the choice we had to make to lay our best boy Toby to sleep, I cannot say enough good things about this place. Over the weekend, our guy had been battling for awhile and told us it was time to go, and we stumbled through a phone call with the receptionist with what to do as it was our first time having to do this with a pet. She was so patient with us as we struggled to get coherent sentences out and very comforting in answering our questions. When we brought him in, they were very compassionate and gentle with us and got us into the care room right away so we could hold him outside of his crate in his final moments. We aren’t wealthy by any means, and we struggled with the decision given we couldn’t afford the test suggestions other vets had recommended us do. The doctor came in and was extremely compassionate and talked us through everything gently and laid a lot of our insecurities and doubts of our decision to rest by affirming what he believed was the correct choice. The doctor allowed us to hold him which I have heard some vets do not allow, and talked us through every step of the way. They wrapped him in fresh towels and loved on him in a way people who truly love animals would. As we have tried other vets and can confirm, just because someone is in the animal welfare industry doesn’t mean they have a huge passion for animals, but the people here LOVE pets and what they do. I seriously cannot thank them enough for how they made us feel, and the care they gave to our Toby as I’m sure they go through this quite often and could become calloused to the experience. They are great people and will be our first call from now on.

I cannot recommend the Village Vets ER enough. Our senior dog came down with an acute GI issue on Christmas Eve, and since our vet was closed we scrambled to find the best emergency vet. I can’t overemphasize how great this place was. We brought him in and he was given a thorough exam with bloodwork and X-rays. They provided a couple of treatment plans, one being a “gold standard” plan involving a couple of days of hospitalization, and the other being a home-care plan. They did a great job telling us that they recommended the hospitalization but not pushing it and making clear that home-care was an option. We opted for home care but within 12 hours it was clear he was worsening and needed hospitalization. We returned after midnight and they got him admitted. He made a dramatic and quick recovery and was home two days later. The costs were all reasonable and they actually ended up well below the high end estimate for the hospitalization. This is a great group of professionals. We really wanted to avoid a private venture capital owned ER, which is very hard to find these days. They were transparent, communicative, reasonable, and empathetic. I hope to never return but would highly recommend them for people in need.

It’s Friday and Atlanta is snow covered when my dogs sarcoma burst. My veterinarian and every vet in the area is closed. I called Village Vet Emergency. After explaining my situation to person, I wish I knew her name, she told me that if I could get there it would be a wait due to already having other critical patients. But she took the time to tell me exactly what I needed to do, how to clean and bandage the leg. Not only did this save me an expensive and likely dangerous trip it put me at ease. On Monday I called my veterinarian and he told I had done exactly what he would have done. Thank you to Village Vets and Dr. Will Draper for having a great team

Village Vets provided comprehensive, compassionate, and quick care to my puppy. He decided to participate in the Tide Pod challenge on a Saturday morning. From the first call, to reception, to the tech interactions, and Dr. Adam Calcutt’s thorough evaluation, I felt we were in great hands. The staff went above and beyond in caring for us and the other families at their practice. I hope to never go back 😅 but if I need an emergency vet, they will be my first choice.

Dr. Hand and her team have been so incredibly kind and helpful! Not only were they understanding in my panic over my cat, Dr. Hand is incredibly knowledgeable and made sure I felt that my boy was safe. She has even responded very quickly to an email question I had after visiting! Would highly recommend this team for any scary pet moments! Thank you Village Vets!!
