My dog was hit by a car and I rushed him to my Vet who immediately told me I needed to rush him to this Animal Emergency Hospital in Volusia. She explained they have the proper and best equipment to deal with this serious problem. She also explained the Doctor's at this clinic were specialists in surgery and and other serious pet problems that require immediate attention. Unfortunately, my dog was very seriously hurt. He had internal bleeding and damaged organs. It honestly didn't look good. The doctor pledged to do her best, but understandly she made it clear she couldn't make any guarantees. Long story short, she had to operate and my boy was very damaged. She spent over 4 hours operating on my dog son, while I waited. When she finished she gave me a detailed account of what she found and did. It's 4 days later and he is almost back to normal and I'm hoping everything continues to go as well. All of the staff here have been incredible. The call me every evening to give me an update. They let me visit my special boy as often and anytime I want. I can call in anytime, day or night, and get an immediate update. This place saved my son from sure death and the personnel have been wonderful in every way. I can not speak highly enough about them. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else for the treatment for an injury. If a pet needs saving, this is the place to get it done!

Please,, please read all the reviews… do not take you pets to this place. They have no idea what they are doing. Took my sick fur baby Dr states what she thinks could be wrong,, but wants to run $1500 worth of tests. Then nurse comes in tells us something different ,, pretty much telling my family that my baby is a senior and if it’s what they suspect it could be that the treatment plan would be harsh and we should think about euthanasia. But still want me to pay $1500 for X-rays, blood work. Meanwhile my family is heart broken and crying. I got such a bad feeling about this place I wanted to take my fur baby home immediately. I am getting a second opinion. By professionals with Compassion ,,empathy ,, integrity,,and being honest.. Not to put money before care. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND

Two weeks ago from today, our beloved Cecil (who is just shy of 15 years old) had a stroke. My husband and I rushed him to the Animal Emergency Hospital Volusia. We were really afraid that we would have to say goodbye to Cecil. He was promptly seen, had x-rays, bloodwork, etc. after short amount of time, we were notified by phone that we can come back and speak with the doctor. The doctor was thoughtful and very thorough as she explained her findings. She let us know that she felt this doesn’t need to be the time to say goodbye to him. She definitely gave us hope about his possible recovery. We are so excited to report that he has come so far in two weeks! At first, he couldn’t even lift his head or move much at all. We had to spoonfeed him and hold him in the cat box so that he could utilize it. Now he is able to do everything on his own! He is pretty wobbly on his feet, but every day he gets better. My husband purchased a small animal wheelchair for him thinking it might help with strengthening his legs, but he is definitely too stubborn and was able to get out of it. He is starting physical therapy and acupuncture next week. Thank you for everything you do! The entire staff here is so caring and sympathetic! ❤️ My husband, myself, and little Mister Cecil all appreciate you ! 😻

My boyfriend and I’s cat ate 3 advil last night, and the staff were compassionate and quick to assess our boy. Unfortunately he didn’t make it, however they saved us money by telling us to call animal poison control on the way ourselves and getting a case number prior to arriving instead of paying triple the price to let them do it themselves. The doctor was fast and efficient and very gentle when communicating the loss of our baby to us. They tried their best to save him and I’m very grateful they did everything they could. I’ve been here twice now for two separate animals and any time we have another emergency I’ll be coming back.

I’m leaving a review because I 100% have no complaints about this place as of my visit tonight. I adopted a dog from the shelter and she had just gotten spayed, the shelter did not give me any of her meds and she’s a very active dog. She ended up which I know now getting a fluid buildup underneath her incision which I thought was something more serious from being so active and moving around. They gave me multiple options of plans of which way we could go. Unfortunately not having pet insurance really nabbed me in the butt, but the staff were so kind to me and my dramatic self continuously crying the entire time because nobody likes to see their pets going through anything like that. They continued to make me feel comfortable, and generously donated some needed sedatives and pain meds to my baby so she could sleep through the night until I contacted the shelter. Even though these kinds of visits are extremely pricy because it’s an emergency service, I cannot complain because it’s better than me sitting on the bathroom floor with my baby crying because I thought she was seriously hurt. They’re compassionate, and not one person gave me attitude. I would bring my sweet girl back here anytime. They loved her and continued to let me know how much of an angel she is. (This was also not my first time being here, I had a previous dog I brought years ago and I will keep coming back). I have not had a bad experience yet.
