My cat seriously injured herself (degloved her tail) and I called a bunch of emergency vets near me that either had questionable reviews or were at capacity. Her condition was urgent but she was alert and active, so I did my research and wound up driving to VEG from Pasadena…. And am I glad I did! VEG is clean and well-lit with ample parking. The facility is outfitted for comprehensive care. Everyone I talked to was professional and kind. Triage took a while but I was well warned they were tending to more urgent cases that night. Prices are high as expected, but the vets are reasonable and will work to fit care within your budget. Dr. Lin was very considerate. I appreciated the little gestures—comfy seating, snacks, staff looking out for pets and their humans…. Discharge instructions were clear. Records transferred easily when requested. I’m happy I trusted VEG and I hope every pet owner has as positive an experience in their pet’s time of need. A huge thank you to the staff for taking good care of Charlie and her frantic human!
VEG was a godsend. They took care of our 12 year old girl when she was vomiting blood. We were able to stay with her the entire time, our usual anxious dog was SO calm, there is no “back room”, all the procedures are done in one communal area which keeps both patients and owners calm. We feel very grateful for all the staff here. It was the best experience I’ve ever had at an ER. Remember to expect ER prices - we paid about $3k for everything (including the overnight stay). But this is standard, anywhere you go. And here, you’re getting the best of the best. So it’s worth it. Thank you VEG! Highly highly highly recommend 10000%.
These doctors saved my dogs. My dogs accidentally got into rubbing alcohol and drunk it almost till it was empty. My dog Eve was in critical conditions as whole lilo was still more coherent. They were horribly sick and from what I felt like were dying. Eves heart rate was 217 when we got there and her body was in shock. They stood with Eve pretty much the whole time comforting her and taking care of her, while I stayed with lilo since lilo wasn’t all that bad. They immediately gave them IV fluids and medication to help them. We went in at 2am on the 10th and were told we had a few hours to see if they progressed. LILO did pretty fast, but with Eve it was taking longer and I thought she’d die. Around 2:30 pm they told me they were going to try a different medicine to help Eve. I still expected the worst. And hour later they come in calming waiting area and tell me Eve was lifting her head and trying to stand. I waited until 5pm to see if she progressed and she did. She was stumbling around and seemed so happy. They allowed lilo and eve to reunite and it was the best part of my day. They saved my babies and for that I’m forever grateful and thankful. I trust them with any animal because after sitting and watching them handle my babies for 16 agonizing hours I saw how much they cared for the animals and loved taking care of them. I LOVE YOU GUYS AND THANK YOU (Eve is the brown, Lilo is the black)
I came here at 3am on Sunday morning and the care we received from VEG was excellent. They put us in a secluded exam room and kept me in the loop with everything happening. While the wait was long because they had a busy night, they kept me informed and very comfortable. They took excellent care of my dog and reviewed all of their procedures with me. They were all very professional and caring for my dog Louie.
This place is open concept. Maybe not ideal for some diseases or those who are squeamish, but a nice atmosphere overall. All staff we interacted with was very helpful & friendly. Dr. was thorough & gave us options. Advised an overnight, but didn’t push us which was very appreciated. Only down side is it’s very expensive especially if you need overnight care. We are glad our little guy improved enough that we felt he could be comfortable at home. The advised overnight care was $3000 on top of $2400 for all the exams. X-ray $600. They did refund us quickly a cost we didn’t need. They text you care plan with costs & you approve on your phone. All vets in LA seem to be quite expensive & this was our first ER visit. Did VCA urgent care once and it was also pricey especially since diagnosis seem to take multiple visits in our experience. I recommend this place for good care, but just know you will likely spend at least $1000. Also there is a FREE PARKING lot & street metered & 2 hour parking. Free snacks were a plus as well. Would give 5-stars if costs were a bit less, but that seems to be life in LA & pet ownership. Other tip is don’t go to dog parks! Every disease our buddy has gotten has been dog park related ☹️ Three different times!
