I am beyond enraged, heartbroken, and utterly disgusted by the gross negligence and appalling lack of care displayed by Burbank Pet Hospital. I trusted them with my dog’s remains, and they completely shattered my family’s heart with their recklessness. This is not just an error—this is incompetence and cruelty at its worst. After my sweet dog, Bowie, passed away—after 13 beautiful years of her lighting up our lives—I made it clear to Burbank Pet Hospital that I wanted a private cremation. I paid for it, I chose the urn, I signed all the paperwork, and I reassured my three daughters that we would get to keep a small piece of Bowie’s spirit with us. We were promised that. We believed it. We trusted them. But instead, Burbank threw her away. They carelessly tossed my family into a group cremation and told me that they spread her remains in the ocean. Let that sink in. After all the money I paid, all the assurances I received, this is how they treated our beloved dog. They didn’t just fail us—they betrayed us. Bowie deserved better. She deserved respect. She deserved to be remembered, not discarded like trash. I called Burbank a week after her passing and was told I would “hear back soon.” Months went by without a single call from them. After finally reaching back out to them, they told me her remains were gone. First they claimed that someone else had picked them up, and when I challenged that—because I’m the only contact on file—they finally admitted the truth: They mishandled everything. Instead of providing the individual cremation I paid for, they disregarded our wishes and disrespected my dog in the most devastating way possible. And if that wasn’t enough, the staff had the audacity to blame me. They insinuated that maybe I had changed my mind about paying for her private cremation, as if I wasn’t devastated enough. How dare they?! I made it crystal clear what I wanted, and now, because of their incompetence, my family is left with nothing. No ashes. No urn. No closure. Just empty promises and shattered trust. Then they offered a credit for the procedure. A credit—as if I would ever trust these people with another animal again. When I insisted on a refund, they reluctantly agreed, but the damage was already done. They agreed to refund me and forgo the credit. But they could only credit back to the same card I used because of their “accounting system”. Just after this past Christmas, my bank card I had used at Burbank had been hit with fraud and is now cancelled with a new card issued. I explained this to them and asked if they could just send me a check. I just want to be done with this. I was told they would call me back. Instead of calling me, today I received an email saying they had issued a credit to my account. This is beyond unacceptable. I have no words for the depth of my disgust. This was not just an animal to us—Bowie was our family. She endured so much in the last 3 years of her life - losing both of her eyes to glaucoma and still managing to smile every day. For Burbank Pet Hospital to treat her—and us—with such utter disregard is infuriating. They have taken a devastating loss and turned it into an even worse trauma. Burbank Pet Hospital has ruined the last chance I had to honor my dog’s life. They have stolen any hope of closure, and I will never, ever forget what they’ve done to us. My daughters and I walked into that place expecting dignity and respect for our precious Bowie and instead they failed and tried to blame us for their failure. This wasn’t just negligence; it was a slap in the face, a total betrayal of everything I trusted them to do. Shame on you, Burbank Pet Hospital. You have broken our hearts in ways I will never be able to describe. You should be ashamed of yourselves. This review is for Bowie and who knows how many other families have suffered because of the absolute negligence and recklessness of your behavior.

I’m grateful to this pet hospital for the caring and affectionate vets and staff. Dr Alvarado and Dr Fluegge have seen our 2 cats and given excellent advice for their health and well being. When there’s an urgent need, they are there for us. And for things that can become chronic issues, they’ve advised us so we can avoid long term problems. Our cat Nori was overweight and has now lost 15% of her body weight quite happily thanks to their advice. Both our cats are doing well under their care. Although we moved to another part of the Bay Area, we continue to visit them so that our cats can get the care they deserve. Many thanks to Burbank Pet Hospital for their excellent service.

Wonderful people! My main complaint: The price hike on medications kept me from giving 5 stars. A 10x markup compared to letting me get them from the pharmacy. However, I would be fine purchasing it from them if it was a more understandable markup. Other than that, Dr. Alvarado and Maria were very nice. We could feel the compassion they had. They eased our nerves. Dr. Alvarado took her time with my baby. She also answered all of my questions and taught me how to take even better care of my dog. She even gave me a can of food to help.

My baby had to be put down yesterday and as horrible that was I’m happy it was done there as they weren’t only kind, sweet, caring to him but also my husband and children. Thank you all for making it a little easier sending out little dude to heaven

We've been coming here for years. The separate entrances for dogs and cats make waiting much easier. Dr. Fluegge and Dr. Alvarado have always been very patient and kind during every visit we've had. I recommend them anytime someone is asking about a good veterinarian.
