We had a “simple” reason to visit because we couldn’t get an appointment with our primary vet. From the moment I called, the greeting on the phone was so welcoming and non-judgmental. We were triaged in the waiting room in a timely manner. Understanding that this is an emergency veterinary hospital, there was another family who needed more help than my pet did. We were kept comfortable and informed while we waited for our turn. After the emergency was taken care of, the Dr. met with me and discussed all of my concerns. We were treated, checked out and on our way home in about an hour!

The staff, including nurses and doctors, clearly possess a high level of expertise and professionalism. It's evident they know what they’re doing and genuinely care about the well-being of their patients. I’ve taken all my pets there, and the quality of care has consistently impressed me. However, I did encounter some communication issues that I would like to address. While the medical team is highly skilled, there seems to be a gap in explaining costs and treatment options. I often received a bill without a clear understanding of the charges beforehand. Instead of discussing the financial implications of different treatment options, I was typically just handed a paper outlining the costs. During moments of intense reflection and decision-making, receiving a paper can be particularly overwhelming. However, with clear direction and communication, the process can become significantly easier. Clarity and detail are especially important in these situations, as pet owners may not be in the best frame of mind when their loved ones are facing life-or-death decisions or are seriously ill. It would be much more helpful if the staff could verbally clarify what each option entails and the associated costs, allowing me to make informed decisions about my pets’ care. Overall, while the medical care at Blue Pearl is commendable, I believe that enhancing communication around costs and treatment options would greatly improve the overall experience for pet owners. Clearer dialogue would not only build trust but also help pet owners feel more confident in their choices during such stressful times.

We drove there from Santa Cruz with our very sick chihuahua and were immediately and warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. The medical staff saw her very soon after that, and got right down to testing. The doctor gave us very clear and concise information, costs involved, and personal experience since her dog had had the same medical issue. We agreed to proceed and she provided a clear medical plan, which began with going to another facility which has surgeons on staff who specialize in the kind of surgery our dog needed. Her recommendation was precisely what was needed and we are so happy to report our little girl is recovering and has a solid prognosis. I cannot more highly recommend the high level of clinical operations and sincere compassion this entire facility provided. I will definitely be coming to BluePearl for all our animal companions. How grateful we are to have this highly valued resource available to us.

The administrative staff greeted me with warmth and understanding, which immediately put me at ease, especially after my stressful 2-hour drive through traffic. Despite my delay, the staff was incredibly accommodating, ensuring that my fur baby , was seen promptly without any unnecessary wait time. I was particularly impressed by the compassion and respect shown to my furry baby; it was clear that the team genuinely cares about the animals they treat. What truly set this experience apart was the time the veterinarian took to sit down with me and thoroughly explain my fur baby's condition. This level of attention to detail and willingness to address my questions is something I rarely encounter at veterinary clinics. Instead of the usual rushed summary at checkout, I received clear, comprehensive information about my pet's health, which made me feel informed and confident in the care being provided. This thoughtful approach to veterinary care is exactly why I wholeheartedly recommend this Pet Hospital to others. Every time we’ve had to take one of our dogs to Blue Pearl, during the off hours, we’ve always been seen quickly and we’ve always received the best care. My little dog, hurt his back, during hours that our vet is closed. We called Blue Pearl and he was seen immediately. They told us our options, and were clear about cost, but also didn’t try to strong arm us in to paying more than needed which is appreciated! They gave us our action plan for care for him, and are prepared for his road to recovery.
