Staff is very polite! Very friendly! Doctor Owen’s is very nice, he works very well with my dogs and shows a lot of respect. Dr Owen’s along with all of his staff answer every question with great detail. We love our new vet! Boarding areas were very well kept!
Dr. Owen's is so caring. He really loves the animals and takes such good care of them. He checks them thoroughly every time they go. Great Vet
I'm extremely grateful. I came fighting for my baby life. No one expects their pet to get cancer. Not only did they take care of Mocha J. I was encouraged (actually hugged) and assured that they'd treat my 13yr as I would. That she was theirs too 😌😪. Thank you. I can't say it enough. I've had her since she was two months old, she's our family. Thank you for giving her back to us ❤️.
Excellent care for your fur babies and wonderful Vet Dr Owens. Dr Owens and his staff truly care about the animals they love what they do, and it shows. Absolutely the best care you can get is right here in Semmes.
EDITED TO ADD: After the post below was made, I finally got in touch with another vet that had an opening. I took her in to new vet, the very next day after seeing doc Owen. She had to have surgery. There was a literal hole in her arm the size of a nickel. The new vet also told me that had I made my puppy wear this cast for 2 additional weeks as doctor Owen suggested, she very likely could have lost her arm due to the severity of the infection. My gut just told me to seek a second opinion & THANK GOD I did. I was out an additional $600, that I wouldn’t have had to pay, had Dr. Owen changed it like he said he would, but that’s neither here nor there. I’m just glad I found someone who actually took time with us, and treated my pet properly. She’s now cast free & completely healed. But I did want to update this story to let everyone know! This is my 4 month old puppy, Luna. She broke her arm 2 weeks ago, & Dr. Owen’s fixed her up & put this cast on her. He told me to return on December 5th (today) to have it changed out. He emphasized this, as if it was of great importance. Well, in the meantime, she developed a very nasty infection on her arm from the cast rubbing against it. He said it was because she was “too active” but either way, it’s there. I was counting down the days until this appt because the smell is absolutely horrid. & I know she must be miserable. So I couldn’t wait for her to get a new cast. Boy was I wrong. I get there today & he sees how bad the infection is, & told me “it looks fine. We don’t need to change it out.” She has a literal infection. & he expects her to wear this nasty cast for two more weeks. He did however prescribe her antibiotics & gave her an antibiotic shot, but it was extremely apparent that he wanted me gone as soon as humanly possible. I left more confused & concerned than I was when I went. He doesn’t let you speak, he talks over you, & he doesn’t want to hear anything that’s going to cause him to have to spend more time with your pet. That was my experience anyway. She also has a really bad cough & I recorded it on my phone so he could listen & maybe possibly tell me what it is. Nope. He said he didn’t need to listen to it. He said it was an upper respiratory infection. As I’ve read through these reviews from people over the years, I’ve seen several stories where Dr. Owen’s has misdiagnosed others animals. Whether or not that’s true, I can’t say, but I’ve read it on here & other places like yelp. That’s scary to me. We will 100% not be back & I'm currently looking for a new vet as we speak. & the girls in the back aren’t even almost friendly. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about animals and their wellbeing, skip this place. The video below is the cast he seen TODAY and said it was fine. And to leave it on FOR TWO MORE WEEKS with an infected arm.
