I brought our dog Missy into Ark after thinking she had been shot, because she couldn't stand and had a wound on her hind leg; however, since we live in an extreme wooded area and she had about 4 ticks on her, it was thought (and hopped) that she had tick paralysis. She was prescribed medication and antibiotics and if it was paralysis she would be better in three days. Missy was taken home and given extra love and her medication as prescribed, but she wasn't getting any better. This revelation meant her condition was not paralysis. Missy had been a "covert operative" since a puppy. She would often crawl stealthily on her belly up to you and once close she would pounce! This is something she never grew out of and although we knew she was coming, we would act surprised and she seemed to enjoy our reaction. So, when I saw her crawling, I initially thought she was just being herself until I noticed she really couldn't stand and was whimpering. This brings me back to Ark Animal Clinic. The staff was great and hands-on. The doctors were attentive. I still don't know the cause for Missy's condition. She was fine Thanksgiving through Saturday. Saturday night she was under the steps crying. I went out to give her extra cover and noticed she was not in her house. I called her but she didn't come. It was after much searching that I found her under the steps. I covered her up where she was. She looked grateful for the cover. I petted her and rubbed her and asked what she was doing under the steps. She didn't move, blinked her eyes enjoying the rubs. She was "missing" Sunday morning for breakfast and lunch. She was "found" Sunday evening in the backend of the back yard. She couldn't stand. She was rushed to the animal hospital. Monday I made an appointment and we visited Ark. Tuesday or Wednesday of that week she had to be put to sleep. After an open and honest discussion with the doctor, it was decided to be the best and most merciful option because her urine was backing up and she wasn't having bowel movements. I was allowed to bring my 8 years old nephew back to see Missy. I didn't tell neither my nephew nor brother that she would be put to sleep. I only told that she was very sick and her chances of survival weren't good. They came and took pictures, made videos, cried and prayed for her, with the promise to visit the next day. They didn't realize Missy had passed until after we received the nicest cards ever from Ark. We all cried. This kind gesture gave them closure. They'd left that Tuesday/Wednesday after visiting her for the last time praying that she would get better soon and come home. This was a very traumatic event; however, Ark made it as comfortable as possible. My nephew carries the card and it's content around with him wherever he goes. He even took it to church this past weekend. My sincere thanks to the doctors and staff. Missy is greatly missed. 🥺❤️
Great team that cares about every single of their patients! Dr. Wilder is super knowledgeable and has many modern approaches for treating the babies. I trust her 100% and am confident to send anyone her way.
We cannot say enough great things about Dr. Wilder and her incredible staff. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt welcomed and reassured that our pet was in the best possible hands. Dr. Wilder is not only highly knowledgeable but also takes the time to explain every detail in a way that’s easy to understand. Her passion for animal care truly shines through in every interaction. The entire staff is equally amazing—kind, professional, and always ready to go the extra mile to make both pets and their owners feel comfortable. Whether it’s a routine check-up or something more serious, they handle everything with great expertise and a gentle touch. We’ve had nothing but positive experiences here, and we wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Wilder and her team to anyone looking for top-notch veterinary care. They genuinely care about their patients, and it shows. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our furbabies!
Ark, Dr. Wilder and the entire staff are the absolute best you can get. I've been to vets all over the city in the past 30 years and once I took my baby to Dr. Wilder I never turned back. It's clean, they know what they're doing, they are friendly and they LOVE animals of all types. Excellent, excellent!
Dr. Eiland-Wilder has been our vet for about a decade, and we love her! She is great with my babies, compassionate, and treats them like they are her own. She understands that we are doing the best we can within our budget, so she doesn’t guilt trip or nickel & dime me into elective tests we can’t afford. That said, when she tells me we really do need to run a test or procedure, I trust her. Her clinic is clean, her staff is friendly (shout out to Deanna!), and I recommend them to everyone who is looking for a vet – so do Li’l Blaine, Cheetoh, Itty-Bitty, Shorty, and Greta. 😊
