Came to Huntsville Veterinary Specialists and Emergency all the way from Cullman at 2:00 AM. It was so worth it!! Our 1&1/2 year old kitty Scratchy wasn’t feeling herself, shook like she was in pain and wouldn’t let myself or my Husband pet her. We couldn’t see anything wrong and no vet in Cullman was available. I called first and told them what was going on over the phone. They were very understanding and courteous and told us to come on in. Registration was a breeze!! Scratchy was seen within minutes!! I can’t begin to tell you how genuinely sweet and helpful the staff is!! Christina held her in a blanket in the exam room, and someone even sang to her!! It meant so much to us!! Dr. Ruby came in, and we found out Scratchy had the tiniest of puncture wounds on her neck, a scratch on her ear, and was uncomfortable due to pain. My husband and I couldn’t even tell, but Dr. Ruby found it!! She shaved her neck, gave her an antibiotic and some pain medication. Dr. Ruby spoke softly and kept a comforting smile as she talked to us one on one, explained every detail to us, and gave the most thorough directions on proper treatment. She assured us more than once that our baby Scratchy will be just fine in a week or two. She was so happy that we came in. We got there in time before an abscess occurred. Which probably would have happened if we had waited till Monday for our vet here in Cullman. I am so grateful for the 24/7 help Dr. Ruby and the staff provide at HVSE!! Before we left, Christina went through everything again and told us the amount of medication to give her, when to give it to her, and how. She even wrote notes on the packaging for us!! When we needed a vet the most and at the most insane hour, they were there!! More than ready to help Scratchy!! I couldn’t ever thank them enough!! Such a pleasant experience during a very difficult time!! They made EVERYTHING BETTER!! The girls at check out were great and made the transaction so simple!! The overall experience was everything I could have ever asked for and more!! If you have the ability, and your fur baby needs emergency help in the dead of night/morning, GO HERE.

Dr. Scott and the staff at this facility were incredible to us at such a difficult time. Our elderly pup was at the end of his journey. I was greeted with helpful smiling faces as we entered the facility. The room we were placed in felt and looked more like a sitting room and did not read cold or medicinal. The room was large with a couch, chair, fuzzy rug, and colorful art. I never felt rushed in making a decision. All options were provided. Dr. Scott is the kindest and most compassionate vet I've ever encountered! She provided a comfortable atmosphere for me and Mr. Gauge in our last moments together. Thank you for taking such good care of our sweet boy!

A few months ago our 4 year old French bulldog otis started breathing heavily and was having trouble getting around very suddenly. After a few visits to our local vet we were referred to Huntsville vet specialist. After an MRI we found out that otis had a herniated disc in his neck. We decided to let Dr. Narak perform a surgery to remove his bad disc. Thankfully otis surgery went very well. We were shocked when we realized how helpless otis would be after his procedure. He was basically paralyzed from the neck down for a couple of days. As days past otis slowly but surely got better and better. Now after 6 weeks he is almost fully recovered. The staff and Dr. Narvak were great thru this entire experience. Very professional and courteous. This is a very expensive process. We are so happy now with the decision we made. Thank you Huntsville veterinary specialist for saving our furry 👶.

We had never been to the emergency vet before. Went in expecting to have to wait cause we had a small emergency and they have more critical patients to see but still wasn’t as long of a wait as I had expected. Very friendly and helpful staff. Two things to know ;your gonna have a wait time and your gonna pay for their services but that’s anywhere so having a good attitude helps the situation and helps the staff stay in good spirits I’m sure too cause you know their job has got to be hard. Very thankful for them. Got our fur baby fixed up and I cant express what it means to have someone be kind to our pets in tough situations . 10/10 recommend

The folks here were kind to me, my husband, and our hedgehog. Hedgie had terminal cancer, and Dr. Graham gave us options. We tried pain medication, but were unable to get him to take enough food to sustain him. When it was clear within a few days time that pain management wouldn't be enough, they made room for us on a fully booked day, and gave our friend compassionate end of life care. They gave us time to sit with him before the treatment, allowed us to pay in the room to avoid the front desk, and the doctor brought us a little box with his paw prints and a few quills. They were very good to our hedgie, and helped make his passing as gentle as possible--for all of us. 🦔❤️
