My dog Oakley seems to love it here! He never wants to leave when I come to pick him up. My only feedback would be that I wish they sent us daily report cards / pictures of our pups day. I can’t always check the cameras and would like to know how he does and see who his friends are! When I emailed they said report cards are only for first time clients- we did not get one his first time though.
We have been taking our chihuahua mix to Tailwaggers for boarding when we have to travel without him for two years, and the staff always greets him by name when we drop him off. The daily price for boarding ($50 ish) includes a full day of daycare ($30 ish value), which is so much more reasonable than anywhere else I’ve looked at. During daycare time, the dogs are split into a small dog area and a big dog area. We love visiting the website to watch the small dog area webcam to see what our dog is up to. He loves people and can often be found on the lap of the staff supervising playtime. When we drop him off, we often schedule for them to trim his nails or do a full bath shortly before we’re scheduled to pick him up. This saves us from a separate trip to the groomer’s and is very convenient and reasonably priced. On occasions when we’ve needed to pick up early or add on an extra day due to changing travel plans, Tailwaggers has always been accommodating. It would be nice if they could upgrade the quality of their webcams and if their online booking system for boarding & daycare could support adding on grooming services, but I still give Tailwaggers Verona 5 stars.
I wish I could give 0 stars. They keep the dogs inside except for short potty breaks, rarely pay attention, or interact with the dogs at all, and sometimes there's 40+ dogs in the 1 room. Avoid this place if you want to protect your dogs well-being.
My pups are always happy here (Verona Wi location). Whether for the day or overnight. Everyone there is so caring and seems to really enjoy being there. I love that they have relationships with each pet! When I am traveling, the live webcam helps me feel connected to my pups!
My dog was put on the wait-list for another facility so in the meantime, I thought we'd give Tailwaggers a try. I took my 8 month old dog here two times and after watching the live camera like a hawk, because I'm a helicopter parent, I told myself I would never take him back. The morning staff was not friendly and I did not like how some of the dogs were treated. I watched as the daycare attendant yanked, yes yanked, a dogs collar over to a "timeout" area. I also noticed they spray the dogs with water via spray bottles in an effort to stop unwanted behavior...which I do not support. Neither of these two incidents had occured to my dog, but I wasn't going to wait for it to happen before I pulled him. I prefer positive reinforcement methods. Not to mention the staff on camera is mostly on their phones all day. Was my dog tired after daycare? Of course. Was he happy? Maybe, but it wasn't hard to read his body language and see that sometimes he seemed fearful of the attendant. It seemed like he was yelled at a few times for being too playful with another dog. Sending him to Tailwaggers just didn't sit right but we're happy we've gotten into our preferred facility.
