I hate posting a negative review, but sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision when choosing Smoochie Pooch. Moved to SC four months ago and immediately took my 5yo Shih-Poo mix Winston here when it was Buddy and Go-Go's and it was easily one of the best grooming experiences he ever had! Two months later we returned despite new ownership hoping the same groomers would still be there. Sadly, Smoochie Pooch was a total disappointment. I ordered a full grooming package - foot/face/fanny trim, all-over body shave, and nail trim - but was shocked when I picked up Winston and saw that he wasn't groomed at all! In fact, only the hair over one eye and around his snout was cut and it was crooked and uneven. Further, I can't even be certain whether or not Winston was bathed with water and shampoo or simply sprayed with some sort of a cologne - he smelled REALLY good but his coat didn't feel clean. The groomer told me that she didn't trim his feet or his nails because “he moved his foot”, she said she couldn't shave his body because she only had scissors so she tried (unsuccessfully) to cut down a couple of curls, and said she did the best she could on his face. The groomer was either super inexperienced or super lazy and although she was nice enough, she did a terrible job with the dog. I paid $63 for a grooming that never happened and a dog whose face hair looks like he got attacked by a weed wacker. What's worse is he left the salon sick and has had diarrhea ever since! Was so hopeful that despite new ownership this would still be our go-to groomer for Winston. Sadly, we won't be returning. Attaching photos of what Winston looks like normally after being groomed and what Winston looks like presently after the hack job at Smoochie Pooch. I notice there are only two reviews since new ownership took over and both are negative with similar experiences. Smoochie Pooch should take this as a learning opportunity and invest in some grooming training or more experienced groomers before they lose too much business. His hair will grow back and his stomach bug will go away but what a super disappointing experience all around. **EDIT** VP of Ops left me a voicemail to discuss my review. I was cautiously optimistic but hopeful that the company wanted to do the right thing and at least issue a refund for the grooming that never happened. I have since called her back four times but can't reach her and she's never called me again. I stand by my review and have removed one star for this added inconvenience.
Two wonderful people met me when I came in with my Border Collie. We went through my dogs grooming needs quickly. I picked my dog two hours later and she looked marvelous. She was no worse for the bathing and grooming. (which she absolutely hates BTW) All at a reasonable price for today's world.
I am blown away, my kain has never left a groomer looking this good! Sanna did an amazing job and was very attentive to my concerns with him. Everyone here is so nice and you can easily tell they are great people! Kain loved the treats. 10/10 definitely recommend!
Thank you Buddy and GoGo’s for taking such good care of my golden doodle Cali!! She looked beautiful after her full groom there. The BEST she has ever looked!! Love the bows!! She seemed so comfortable there and got some delicious treats on her way out! We will definitely be coming back there for her next spa day 😍
I want to start by prefacing, that we usually have a good experience when we bring our Golden Retriever here, and I love the receptionist who is always nice and who was understanding and kind today when I spoke my concerns today in regards to this experience. However, in the last 6 months things have changed as far as our Grooming experience goes. Ive noticed that the quality of cuts has decreased or maybe just for my dog. Today, more specifically was quite the shock for me, as I took our dog to get a summer cut/trim as her hair had gotten very long and shaggy in most parts. I even talked to the ladies upfront whom I had never met, (who I suppose were the groomers and possibly new?) and explained her hair type, the goal I was going for and showed her pictures. When I arrived to pick my dog up, she looked almost completely shaven down except for her head and ears (which stops mid head/skull). Her tail was trimmed down, but looks okay but her skin is visible or almost exposed in areas. I realize it is hard to understand from words, and pictures at times and thankfully- hair grows back. Although, I was so shocked at the clear, and utter lack of awareness for my dogs breed and hair type. Golden’s are usually mid to long haired breed’s and I just thought that was obvious, especially since my dog had a full lock of Golden hair upon arrival. I only write this to share my experience, because this was very disappointing. Again, I am thankful hair grows back, but we didn’t expect to spend the amount we did for a almost bald Golden Retriever. Very, very disheartening.
