Dog grooming studio

I've been taking my pups--now three of them--to Rosie for more than five years. They always come home looking happy and are perfectly groomed. Anytime they go to the vet, he asks who my groomer is because their ears are always clean, which I guess that not all groomers do a good job with. I drive half an hour each way to get to her grooming studio, so I think that that says a lot about the very high quality of her work.

This was my first and last time I have Rosie groom my dog. When asked initially what the cost would be she said from $45-60 for a puppy cut for my Aussie but she didn't give her the cut, had me hold her while brushing then charged me $80. (I had told Rosie my dog had a lot of mats & this was her first time at the groomers, she was very scared of the clippers & gave her some dog treats to reinforce positive behavior.) She was rough with my dog, yanking at her leg, and gruff with me, shaming me about not keeping my dog brushed. My dog was trembling almost the whole time even tho I had given her a mild herbal relaxant called Composure. Her big dogs were roaming around the place, barking at my dog & Rosie acted put out when I asked her to not allow this. The cigarette smoke was tough to take bc I had quit smoking about 6 months ago. I give 1 star bc of her effort for brushing out my dog that was not easy. Rosie is not kind & gentle to dogs or people.

I took both my shih tzus to Rosie I also think the place was very dirty, both of my dogs ended up with an infection around there privates where they had been cut with the clippers. Her equipment is dirty! Those large dogs she keeps there all the time stressed my girls out and they came home exhausted! This is truly a bad place. I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB because this business owner does not stand by her work and refused to pay the emergency vet bill. When calling the shop to follow up Rosie also lied and said she was not the one answering the phone and after calling her out on it she wrote down my address to mail a check for the vet bill after having to file the complaint. Not only is she nasty she is a liar! We will see if I really get the check or not I don’t trust her at all!!

Rosie has always treated our dog with the utmost care. I am able to hold my dog while she performs the necessary nail treatments --this is impossible at the Vet Office. She accepts us even without an appointment.

My dog was obviously treated roughly while there. When we picked him up he was shaking and this continued for days every time we put him in the car. This was not the first time he was groomed by Rosie and she does a fantastic job, but my poor boy will not be going back as it took months for him to stop this new behavior.
