I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the grooming service my dog received at Doggy Day Grooming yesterday. When I drop, I made it explicitly clear that she had some matting on her head and requested that they best be brushed out AND that the hair be long as possible. The lady indicated that she would try her best to get them out. However, when I picked up my dog, I was horrified to see that her entire coat had been shaved entirely. Not only was this not what I requested, it was also not communicated to me beforehand. I understand that sometimes it is necessary to shave a dog due to matting, but in this case, it could have been easily avoided with proper communication and attention to detail. We specifically mentioned that we only wanted the matts trimmed. To make matters even worse, my dog came home with razor burn and was bleeding slightly on both ears. This is completely unacceptable and reflects a lack of care and professionalism on the part of the groomer. When they were called expressing our displeasure, the lady insisted rudely to put paper powder on the razor burn that that it would get better in a few days. Since then, I have discovered more places around her body that were scabbed that day. I am extremely disappointed with the service my dog received and will not be returning to Doggy Day Grooming in the future. Furthermore, I do not understand why we were charged the price of a doodle groom, which is a more expensive cut at $90/$100, if the groomer seemed to take the easy way out and only shave my dog. To make matters worse, my dog has had such a difficult time settling down the last two nights because she was so uncomfortable. She flinches if you come close to her because she’s worried someone is going to hurt her again. She is now wearing a cone and has large scabs on her ears, top of her head, toes, and back end. She has not ate as much and looks so uncomfortable. I hope that in the future, the grooming staff will prioritize clear communication with clients and prioritize the safety and well-being of the animals in their care. Photos: immediately after picking her up, what she looked like prior, her initial injuries, scabs a week later. Cone was immediately put on her before she started scratching at all.
My visit to Dog Day Grooming at 719 N Main St for a nail and paw pad grooming this morning for my beloved pug, and I couldn't be more impressed with the service I received. Kacye, the groomer, did an absolutely fantastic job! Not only did she handle my pug with great care and expertise, but she also went above and beyond by taking my pug while I was waiting and completing the grooming efficiently. Kacye's professionalism and attention to detail truly stood out during my visit. My pug looked and felt amazing after the grooming session, and I could tell that he was in good hands throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Dog Day Grooming to all pet owners in the area. The staff's dedication to providing top-notch service and care for our furry friends is truly commendable. Thank you, Kacye, and the team at Dog Day Grooming, for the outstanding experience! Five stars all the way!
I took my AKC registered landseer Newfoundland to Doggy Day Grooming today. She is 1 year old and has never been professionally groomed only at home grooming. I’m floored at how amazing Yvonne did with her. I had an idea of what she should look like when I picked her up and she checked every box. Beautifully done and I love to see someone proud of their work. You can really tell Yvonne loves her job and is proud of the work she does. I will be coming back for every groom! The staff in general is lovely!! For reference I’ll add before and after pictures!
So I highly recommend this grooming facility. I have a senior dog and they actually offer the ability to express him through so he's not in a crate. Its really nice. Plus they are super great about fitting him in when I need. Everyone is very friendly and they do a really good job. I was a groomer for 17 years and I trust these guys to take good care of my boy.
I have been bringing my two Corgis to Doggie Day For a long time.Jamie is so good and kind to my dogs besides being a fantastic groomer. I wanted to write this review because they bathed and groomed my 13 year old Corgi today who has a cancerous mass in her stomach and we were not able to bathe her. They had the equipment and took all the precautions and patience with her. She looks so beautiful and was so happy when she came home. These people go above and beyond for my fur babies. Would never go anywhere else. ALERT so very sad to find out at the end of June Doggie Day Groom is closing because of not being able to stay in the grooming shop. I pray the groomers can find a affordable building to continue their business. I have gone to other groomers in the area this place is the best.
