Menards

They have many great products but I hate the 11% rebate scam. Most people don't bother with it for most everyday items. Usually use it when spending more on something. So the company makes out on those unused rebates. Why not reduce everything by 11% and advertise that! I'll just continue at Home Depot and Lowe's.

They always have great seasonal decorations. The outdoor department has tons of items. Good prices and they have the 11% sale/rebate so you keep going back for more!

I rented a Rug Doctor for two area rugs in our home. The machine stopped working as I was doing my first rug. No warning lights were on. Water was still in the rug but machine would not vacuum anymore. I immediately called Menards, spoke to a John, told him I would be bringing back machine in AM. He said they would make it right. Never got my second rug cleaned. Menards did give me my money back, after the lady at service desk made very rude comments to me, insinuated I was lying. Now my big area rug is all wavy and bunched up. We had to dry out with fans. We are trying to stretch it, and hope it is not ruined or that we have to hire a professionalt fix it. . We are loyal customers of Menards but I may look elsewhere for our next purchase. (entry door)

Since the store always has a mail in rebate policy, the prices have been considerably higher and the sales have not been good enough. For major purchases, it may still be worthwhile to go.

So I’ve been a Menards customer for over 25 years and have always liked their stores and their employees but today was simply awesome. Kevin Molby in the building materials department is a rockstar! I was designing and purchasing a $26k pole barn package today and this guy was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Can’t say enough about the time he spent with me patiently answering questions he’s probably heard a million times, then even helping me coordinate the deliveries (there were multiple), even walking me through the checkout kiosk to make sure everything was rung up properly. Store manager - you have a gem in Kevin. I’ll never shop anywhere else for my projects from now on as long as Kevin’s still there. Thanks!
