The Groom Room

Sara has groomed our Portuguese water dogs for many years. She and her crew are just wonderful! They always do a great job, and the dogs are happy and relaxed when they come home. I can't say enough good things about this salon!

Banded my dog’s mouth shut. Unacceptable animal cruelty. We have 2 small dogs. My otherwise extremely affectionate 16lb dog developed a nipping problem when someone put their hand toward his face. I came in to Groom Room early one day—and his mouth was completely closed shut with a band. NOT a muzzle or leader. It was so tight his snout fur was popping out the sides of it—and he could not open his mouth. That is dangerous—especially if a dog is in distress and needs to pant. Absolutely disgusting treatment. EVERY time we picked him up we asked about his behavior. We would have tried anti-anxiety medication, I would have been ok with a humane muzzle, etc. We cared about the groomer’s comfort. But NOT ONCE were we informed that he needed some kind of face covering. He initially only nipped once in awhile. But it started getting worse. And it was way more common with women. Wonder why?? The owner of the new shop we go to showed me the different types of muzzles they use, if needed. The girl on her staff who does him didn’t do his face the first time so he could get used to her. Since then, his face has never been cuter. I guess if the person grooming him it isn’t traumatizing him he’s comfortable enough to get it trimmed. I am appalled at Groom Room’s dishonesty. They abused one dog to keep the business of 2.

I have had nothing but good experiences here with my current dog and two previous dogs. Sara is very attentive and caring with all the animals that come her way. I've seen her calm an anxious, elderly dog within minutes. She has a special touch that I trust with my aging dog.

Been taking our randy little girl there for 10 years and look forward to every trip. Not only because our dog loves Sarah the owner, but also because her work is outstanding. Highly recommended even though positive reviews like this will likely make scheduling more difficult.

I can’t speak highly enough of the groom room. They are always very accommodating with our golden retriever. She has been sprayed by a skunk and they are able to take care of her same day… A huge help. A lot of places won’t even let you bring them in like that. She is also a nervous dog when it comes to grooming… the Groom Room team has made grooming a much less anxious process for her, With their cage less, play room atmosphere with their cage less, play room atmosphere.
