We had a horrible experience today at Sudsy Mutt. We have been using Sudsy Mutt for a year and always enjoyed the friendly staff there. We are very easy going and can understand mistakes. Today we brought our dog home after getting groomed and noticed they completely chopped up the hair on his ears (his ears are always nice and fluffy which everyone loves). We called to find out what happened and the owner Leslie stated that she did not touch his ears at all. We tried sending pictures but she said that she does not accept pictures. So we drove over to show them what happened. Leslie did not come out to see for her self. They ended up refunding just the tip we left but will not refund the entire amount of the grooming. We pay good money for a good grooming and did not receive that. If Leslie would have admitted what happened and tried to correct it we would have moved on from this. We are not the type to say "stay away from this business" since we believe in supporting small businesses, we just want people to know what to expect if things go wrong for them at Sudsy Mutt.
Leslie our groomer is absolutely amazing with my girls. They love being with her and they always come home looking amazing. Every employee here loves my girls and takes great care of them. I never Worry about them when I leave them there and look forward to every appointment. ♥️♥️
I had the absolute worst experience here today! We’ve been bringing our dog, Duncan, here for a year! When I dropped my dog off, it was a complete mad house there. Dogs running around in the back so much commotion. When I picked him back up, it was even worse and someone was trying to drop their dog off at the same time. The phone was ringing and the groomers/front desk staff were yelling at each other about who was going to pick up the phone. Just wanted to get out of there. Left my 20% tip and headed home. Shortly after getting in the door, I noticed that our poor Leonberger was absolutely hacked in the most terrible way! He had the most luxurious ears with all the flouf! It was all gone. Chopped to shreds. I was so upset and called Sudsy Mutt to see what happened. I was able to talk to Leslie, the owner and groomer. Instead of being reassuring and kind, the owner and groomer proceeded to be defensive and yell at me claiming she hadn’t touched the tops of my dog’s ears at all. She wouldn’t accept pictures, but I wanted to bring him in to show her. She rudely said I could bring him back in an hour. I was in tears. I brought Duncan back in and Leslie wouldn’t even come out to look at him or talk to me. I requested a full refund, but was denied. The saddest part was the owner claiming she didn’t butcher him. And then not even talking to me face to face about the situation. Additionally, it was still a mad house in there and I could hear a child crying in the back where they groom the dogs! 😳 We will not be back and do not recommend this place. The last picture is a “before” picture. 😭
We were very specific when we dropped off that our dogs fur was to not be cut short at all. He’s a golden retriever and their coats are designed to be long. It’s ok to do a little hygiene trim and clean up their paws but they cut his fur all the way to the under coat. Not to mention it was the most jagged cut I’ve ever seen. These people must not know how to groom long haired dogs and I would avoid them if you have a long haired dog.
From start to finish, I was very pleased with the customer service and how they handled my Ragdoll. I'll definitely go back for the bath and blowout. I'll skip the "booty" shape up LOL! His goodies were shaved a bit low for both of us
