Been using them for the past 6 months or so. Received an email out of the blue that said they were cancelling my appointments (the very next week) and that their “Doctor” told them they had to stop grooming doodles. It’s sort of funny. Not that they couldn’t do big dogs or dogs that weigh over xx pounds, just doodles. Apparently doodles are bad for the health. Regardless, incredibly unprofessional. Not even the courtesy of a phone call.
My groomer the one time I had a grooming was fantastic. I loved her. The booking and management unfortunately left me high and dry. They dropped the ball with my appointment, told me I was responsible because I didn't get an email back even though I responded right away confirming the time THEY gave me, I had made special arrangements to be home only to be blown off. 3 weeks later, my dog desperately needs a grooming and I have nothing. The owner was terrible on the phone and refused to apologize, refused to take responsibility. He refused to do anything to help me and insisted it was my fault which was odd and incorrect.
I used to have Bark in Style come to groom my 100 golden retriever. We always used Matthew and because he did a nice job we tolerated his incessant talking and boasting about how knowledgeable he is. After some time, Matthew told us they were instilling a 50 lb weight limit. Last year I bought a pomsky which is part Pomeranian, part Husky. Typically they dont weigh more than 30 lbs. mine weighs 40 as this is a newish designer breed and will take some generations to perfect. After Matthew groomed her he returned her to me damp and still shedding. He said they dont do Huskys As it takes too much water and too much product. Bone Jour never complains or gives this feedback and when I wash her its not more difficult, time consuming it costly as she is only 40 lbs ! My issue isnt that theyve decided not to groom any thick coated dogs, its that this groomer was rude and condescending. Matthew kept calling her a husky and responded by rolling his eyes as if I was lying when I corrected him that she is a pomsky. He actually said,” No, She is a Husky”. I offered to show him the breed certification, etc but of course then he then didnt want to argue. I called the owner to discuss it but the owner dismissed me by saying that Matthew gets all kinds of rave reviews and only the odd complaint every now and again. Clearly this mobile dog groomer business wants only to groom the small thin coated dogs but charge very steep prices. Very disappointing and an odd business model as it has resulted in this review and the loss of a customer.
I've had my dog groomed twice now by Bark In Style. They're awesome. Today I had the luxury of having the owner, Herna'n, do the grooming. He's the best! Highly recommend!
It was my dogs first time. Hes a very friendly small lab. I felt that it was over priced, rushed, and I didn't get everything included and I was still charged full price. My dog was damp at the end.
