Every pharmacist here has an attitude problem and poor work ethic. The rest of the staff is wonderful but the actual pharmacists here need an adjustment. Just dont be an asshole
Store portion of CVS is great — wonderful employees, always a pretty good variety of items. Pharmacy is a different story. Several negative experiences with the employees and the pharmacy itself, and this evening takes the cake. I called to get the status on a prescription; the automated message really didn’t make any sense, so I thought it would be best to talk to an actual human about it. After battling the automated robot for several minutes, I was finally placed in queue for pharmacy line. The pharmacy rep was really short with me & not very helpful, but he did let me know that the script wouldn’t be ready for 6+ days. Once I found that out, I asked several questions (that were poorly answered) and ultimately expressed frustration with them [CVS] not having the script & poor communication. The pharmacy representative then proceeded to hang up on me. I called back for the pharmacy, hoping to speak with a manager, and I was on hold for 20+ minutes. I audibly heard the phone pick up & immediately be put back on hold at least 3 times. I was finally connected with someone from the store itself. She was really kind and helpful, just like the store representatives always are. The pharmacy rep did not give me his name, but the kind gal told me his name is Phil. Though the manager wasn’t in, the store employee offered to try to help me. I cannot express how kind and considerate she was — and the negative aspect this review does not reflect my interaction with her whatsoever. The store employee looked up the script information, and then looked to see if any other CVS stores within a 20 mile radius had it in stock. No dice. So she looked into it a bit more. It turns out that the script will NEVER be ready at this or any CVS location, because they no longer carry or sell this particular prescription! The confusing message I received likely has something to do with that key piece of info. But Phil, the pharmacy rep, didn’t bother to let me know that important detail. This is in spite of me asking if any other CVS locations might have it in stock, can it be transferred to another pharmacy altogether, or if anything could be done to get the script any sooner. Review rating breakdown: Retail store portion of this CVS — 4.5/5 stars Pharmacy portion of this CVS — 0/5 stars This averages out to 2.25 stars, which obviously doesn’t round up.
At Newburgh branch it is a pleasure to go there. It is very clean, staff genuinely pleased to see customers. Ever ready to help, always smiling and efficient and they work seamlessly like ah ..a clock.
Possibly the busiest pharmacy in the area but always great service. They can’t help that they are so busy. You just have to time your pickup at a less busy time, mid morning, mid afternoon or later in the evening ( open 24 hours). I recommend CVS on Hwy 66.
They are very slow and they always have long line. Heaven forbid if they know someone in line. Talk about a wait.
