All I can say is Thank you Thank you Thank you! You guys are the best! You always take such great care of my pups and make them look fabulous! My three Bernese Mountain dogs look like the went from being on the farm to the winners of the blue ribbon! The girls at Barker Shoppe always send them back to me smelling and looks great! Thank you!!!

We have used this groomer shop for 15plus years. I had placed a positive review last year but just removed it.I always hesitate before being negative to a business. However this is a matter of animal abuse and cruelty to my dog. Kizzy is an aging Old English Sheepdog. Melissa at Barker Shoppe groomed her for years. Melissa is no longer working there. We met a new groomer introduced by Peg the shop owner. When we came to pick up Kizzy a bump on her back had been shaved and lanced. This lump was being watched by our vet the last few years. It was benign so the Vet decided it should be left alone because surgery wasn't appropriate at her age. However Peggy the owner decided along with the groomer that they should shave and lance the bump with no anesthesia or pain meds. They ARE NOT VETS. We took Kizzy to the Vet the next day where she had it cleaned out for infection and was given oral antibiotics and other treatments. The Vet and her staff made us aware that the person opening Kizzys bump at the groomer actually did something illegal. They said they should never be allowed to groom another dog. When I called the owner to tell her how upsetting this had all been and what our Vet said her reply was that she had done this herself and would do it again to any dog. That it was "a hot spot" ( not) and they do this all the time Then she hung up on me. Sadly after months of antibiotics our dog passed away. We are broken hearted. I reported this to the Better Business Bureau who followed through. The owner did not respond Don't endanger your animals at this shop.My dog is sadly paying a high price. Also note: this is the next day after the Vet surgically shaved and cleaned out the infection.

It was my first time taking Maddy to the Bark Shoppe. I was so happy when I picked her up. Unfortunately, I didn't get the groomers' name, but she was great. I was told Maddy is welcomed back. Yeah!! I'm new to the area and I think I have found our grooming home.

Pros: Dogs are allowed to roam and aren’t kept in cages. Our 6 month old puppy was very, very happy to be there. Cons: The haircut has been ridiculously ugly two times in a row. The first time I brought her back to fix it…they tried, but it still looked like a toupee. The second time, I explicitly asked for the same length all over and showed a picture of what I wanted, yet somehow she had bangs again and was trimmed on her face to look like she had bags under her eyes, in addition to an oddly shaped “mustache”. I asked them to fix it while I was still there, and the groomer acted very irritated. I’m glad others had great experiences here, but maybe it’s just not the right place for a golden doodle.

I took my pup to the Barker Shoppe for two grooming so far. Never again. The first grooming, she was only 4 months old. They did a great job and were very kind to her. However, when we went to pick her up, she was alone in the area between the two gates at the front.I thought because she was so little, and not yet spayed, so i didn't't think much of it.She was barking when I walked in, but again, she is only 4 month old.The second time I took her there, I should have realized something was off when I picked her up.Her grooming was well done, but this time when I picked her up, she was locked up in a cage in a back room. I could hear her crying and yelping. As I walked out, I was told she is very spoiled. I took her there today for a quick nail trim.I stood right there as they trimmed her nails. It was not the usual girl that is so very nice to her, rather it turns out it was the owner. She was very rough and outright mean to my now only 6 month old pup, a small Shihpoo. She tried to cut the nails on one paw, but yes, my pup was very wriggly, so she went to another paw and so forth. Then they said they were done.I had already paid before the cut. I didn't think they had actually cut any, but they were busy, so I said ok, and walked out with her. At the car, I looked and realized they had not cut any of her nails! So I walked back in and actually very nicely asked if they could try again.I was very rudely spoken to and they said she is aggressive and they can't cut her nails! I stood right there while they held her around the neck, leaving no way for her to even attempt at nipping or biting, she just pulled her paws away and wiggled! I was very embarrassed the way they talked to me, so left. Well, I called her trainer from the car. He left the place he was at, and followed me back to his place. They did a beautiful job on her nails and simply commented on her being such a sweetie, just wiggly. I called the Barker Shopped back to explain how I was treated to the owner. She said that was her that had tried to cut her nails, and very rudely said maybe the Barker Shoppe is not the place for me to bring my dog. That's for sure! I will never go back there. The owner was very rude to me and mean to my pup. It's sad, because I thought it was such a cute place and had hoped it would be great. No one and no dog should be treated that way. Barker Shoppe, you are not the place for me or my dog.
