***Update 6 months later*** The Wall of Sadness continues to be one of petco's most prominent displays. The customer service in both the shop and grooming is either goes between just okay or lacking. But the wall of sadness, meaning the bettas in a cup of water, is the main reason why you get 1 star. I would give -5 if I could.
I have been there several times to have my dog groomed. Today was the absolute best! The person who groomed “Kayla” was Bianca L. She is the first person who asked questions about how I wanted her groomed and she actually listened to my answers. I was so pleased with everything she did. In the future, Bianca is the only one I want to groom Kayla.
Phenomenal people work here, they go so much further beyond what I'd expect from a big chain store. They legitimately care and offer a ton of aloha
Very poor customer service. We made a vet appointment for our cat who’s eye seems to be bothering her and they called 2 hours before her appointment to tell me they double booked and the other pet coming in ‘seemed more of a serious issue and they’d appreciate if I could reschedule and come another time.’ I showed up to the time of the rescheduled appointment, and they tell me there must’ve been a miscommunication because my rescheduled appointment was an hour prior. I said I never received a confirmation for the rescheduled appointment and they said I was SOL and rescheduled me again, now for a third time. I understand if you are short staffed, however that’s not an excuse for poor customer service. If you are short staffed, simply adjust your online appointment calendar to have less available appointment times. You should not be double booking people and then choosing which pet seems more deserving of your attention during that time and cancel the other one leaving them out to dry. Very disappointed in how little this staff seems to care about my pet, despite that we pay their yearly membership.
The staff is very friendly and I've had all good experiences with their grooming of my pit bull. They have a growing selection of natural pet food as well as limited ingredient food; which I love because my dog has food allergies. We are loving the brand Merrick currently. The prices are reasonable and I take full advantage of the pals rewards which saves me about $10 every visit! I have 3 furry babies to feed, so I feel like I'm here all the time! LOL It's nice not to have to drive far for pet supplies.
