This vet is really expensive. Before maybe three to four maybe five years ago, this vet was the best place to go in my opinion for my pets but now, it has been very upsetting. The employees here are very rude and they give attitude. You make an appointment and when you get there, they take almost an entire hour or sometimes even an hour before your pet is seen. I understand there is a shortage of workers and special cases come up but last time I went, me and my mom and my dog waited almost two hours before being seen. Our appointment was at 9am and the doctor didn’t come till 10:48. There was also this one worker I don’t remember her name but she was very incompetent with her job. My dogs only use harnesses. They don’t like anything around their necks and I understood they needed to use their own which was fine with me. This employee took our harness off and put their leash on my dog and pulled on the leash so hard my dog yelped and tried to get out of it. Then she wanted to say my dog tried to attack her and I yanked her leash off my dog and told her what she did was very unacceptable and to get us a doctor. The doctor was no help either. She was a tall white girl with glasses and she told me my dog is aggressive and should be sedated before coming in. He was fine until she did that to him. I told her the store she denied it and said we needed to come back another time with medicine. Then I told her I’m not coming back if that’s how he will be treated and she told me well good luck with that. Get out. I wasn’t rude to her I was frustrated but I never backlashes at her for her to talk to me in that way. I walked out and the employees were laughing. Is this how you folks treat your customers? I called reported the workers and till this day never got a response back.
It’s not easy finding avian vet but Feather and Fur has been our “go to” for a few years now and they are fabulous. Dr. Ayling saw our pet chicken and he knew immediately what was wrong with her. Besides his expertise, their staff was very kind and took great care of us while we were there. (Note, their receptionists are very helpful on the phone and Dr. Pluskat also helped us over the phone for follow up questions. Everyone was fabulous). Also, the facility is beautiful!!
Dr. Ayling and the vet techs have been amazing with our senior cat! We brought her to another veterinary center for the same issue multiple times without getting a diagnosis. Dr. Ayling got a full history, walked us through our testing and then treatment options and the costs for each before we made decisions. We appreciate the thoughtful transparency! They’re so good with her, and with us too! It’s easy to make appointments, and we’ve gotten multiple follow up calls to check on our girl.
Thank you to Feather & Fur for making our final moments with Dakota so beautiful. It broke our hearts to say goodbye but you guys are so kind and made the process quick and painless. Thank you from Dakota and the Rhodes Family.
They saved our little buddy, Gus. He had ate 15 tablets of our other dog’s meds and poison control said the levels would be toxic. We took him to Feather and Fur and called on the way there. They were ready for him when we got there and took him back quickly. We weren’t sure yet if our other dog had eaten any of the pills either so they took her back too. They examined her and determined she wasn’t showing signs of toxicity at no charge. By now Gus had a very slow heart rate, blood pressure was way up, eyes dilated and skin/gums were red. They said they would need to keep him 24-48 hours to control his BP and gave us a price range and we had to pay the minimum as a deposit. They called with updates every 12 hours. After 36 hours the meds had cleared his system and his blood pressure stable. When we picked him up, we didn’t have to pay anymore than the minimum for his stay which was surprising. He was lethargic the next day but now back to normal. He wouldn’t have made it without Feather and Fur. Also, they have visiting hours so you can see your pet and a nice, big facility. The vet and techs seemed to genuinely care about us and our dogs.
