I stumbled upon Rockstar Pets while at a birthday party with my kids at Fun Factory, and I'm so glad we did! It's conveniently located just a few doors down, making it easy to pop in. The store is fantastic—full of super cute accessories for our dogs that we couldn't resist. We also found some great treats that our pups absolutely love. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. This locally owned pet store is a gem, and we'll definitely be back! (Amanda Hurtado)

My pups love coming to this store! They have a great selection of items that are thoughtfully sourced, and their boarding services are top tier. All at reasonable prices, too!

They recently watched my 3 bunnies for me while I was on vacation for 5 days. So affordable & easy! I’m happy they have this service since it’s not something we have here on the big island. My bunnies also had a room to themselves. The employees listened to their feeding schedules, temperaments, & their likings just to make sure they were comfortable. They also sent me daily updates as a peace of mind for me which was thoughtful. I highly recommend to do the boarding service if you need someone to watch your pets!

I do not recommend this supplies store at all. It was my first time going to this store. The food supplies are more expensive than a feed store and the back doors don't have a "Employees Only" or "Authorized Personnel Only" sign, which is the main reason I don't recommend this store. The lady said "You can't go in there.", I said that I was sorry, but she didn't say "that's okay" or " no worries". She should also have the back doors locked as well if she doesn't want other people inside these areas. The reasons why I wanted to go to the back doors was because I saw 2 guinea pigs (or guinea mice how I call them, since they look like rats or mice crossed with bunnies) from far away and I saw a macaw cage and few other cages inside (I wanted to see if there was parrots inside the cages). I thought the guinea mice were for sale or for adoption because I wanted to buy or adopt them for me and my little sister (we both have a huge guinea mouse family) and wanted our guinea mice to have new family members. The way how the lady responded and for not saying anything after I apologized to her was pretty insulting and hurtful. I felt exasperated and sad that I immediately left the store. My apologies to the lady, but I may never come to this store ever again. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else in this store again. Hopefully the lady fixes these issues as soon as possible.

I’m struck by the wide inventory of this well stocked pet store. From making your own pet toy, Hawai’i themed pet-kerchiefs to island made pet food, I’m sending all of my ohana, whether visiting or not, for either daily supplies or a cute souvenir to take home from Kailua-Kona’s own best pet supply store.
