Diamonds Place Dog Grooming

I cannot recommend Diamond Place enough! My first visit was a lifesaver for my cat, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. After a terrible experience with a private groomer that left my poor cat with an uneven haircut, cuts, and so much discomfort, I didn’t know if anyone could fix the mess. I called Jess at the Dover location, and even though she was fully booked, she kindly made time for us that same day. Her patience, empathy, and expertise truly amazed me. She not only gave my cat a beautiful haircut I didn’t think was possible, but she also carefully treated her cuts and scrapes with so much gentleness. Jess spent hours working on my cat, treating her as if she were her own, despite her busy schedule. That level of care is so rare. It’s been about two years now, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my pets. Jess is consistently professional, flexible, and kind. I’ve even happily driven an hour and a half to see her at the Dover location, and now that she’s at the Delaware City location, it’s even more convenient for me! If you’re looking for someone who truly loves and cares for animals, Diamond Place is the only place I would recommend. Jess is a gem, and I’m beyond grateful for the incredible work she does. 5 stars isn’t enough to express how happy I am!

I took my mini Sproodle (springer and poodle mix) last Saturday 1/7/25. Not our first time we were actually regulars when they were on Walker road. My people mix is from the UK and his coat is curly and THICK and straight lol. Well I took him for a bath and trim. He had just had a bath about a month or so at petsmart no cut. He was shaved in the summer all the way in July. Now, when you (or for me ) when I took my dog once before and he matted they made me sign a release saying it was ok -just in case they had to shave him and it was because he was matted from a dog sitter. Ok fine. Well this past Saturday I took him they examined him and said “oh he’s good” the lady with the braids at the front desk. I told her I combed and brushed him right before we came. The person came and got him and she was holding him because he’s hyper but no one ever said anything about his hair before I left. And trust me they will - I have taken him before and watched how they explain it to people when their dog is matted - they did it to me before - which is all fine nothing wrong. BUT I got a phone call about an hour and half later saying “you wanted a trim but we bathed him and he’s EXTREMELY MATTED” I’m confused because we established he wasn’t at drop off- not even a little bit and with my dog you would not even be able to bathe him let alone dry and brush him!! So I said just leave him and they sad so mean “come get him” I have it all recorded. When I went to pick him up the only person that was there was the person who took my payment. No one came out and showed me his mats (because there were none) or explained anything. I don’t know the reason they didn’t want to trim him I can only think that they didn’t want to take the extra time to brush him out I know he’s a lot but I would have even paid extra (I usually have to anywhere I take him) because I know his coat and i don’t want him fully cut in the winter and I knew it was going to snow. I’m so saddened by the service this time and will not be back or make anymore recommendations. It was unprofessional and as “dog people” we all know we want the best for them and I did not get that. They were starting to get busy when I came so idk maybe they didn’t want to take the time. My video shows him about an hour after he was COMPLETELY dry because they didn’t even do that. I was able to use a dog comb with no issues on the thickest part of his coat.

This dog has the worst anxiety and has been partially groomed one time at another place and they called me to pick her up but Diamonds place dog grooming transformed Lily into a who new dog. They are so great with her and she looks beautiful. The staff is personable and the price is very reasonable.

Fantastic customer service. They gave me an appointment for the same day, actually for 3 hrs after I called them to work with my schedule. The staff is friendly, professional and was considerate of the comfort of our little guy Scooter. It was his first time here and he came home happy & handsome. This will be our groomer for all future appointments. Thanks to the entire staff, they are awesome!

Took my german shephard there to get full groomers with everything. They refused to cut/trim his hair and said certain breeds they won't and shouldn't do. I had to beg them to "trim" his hair because it was getting very very long. Didn't need a cut, but a trim. Full service groomers was 145 dollars they charged me. When I went to pick him up, they made me pay before I even seen him they kept in the back. The staff are not very personable or pleasurable to talk to or deal with either. When they brought Chino back out to me, I didn't even recognize him. He didn't look like a german shephard. His hair was almost shaven...cut it close to skin and now my dog looks weird. I def won't be back. Way over priced and clueless on how to cut/trim a german shepahd.
