The fact that it’s a mobile grooming service is so convenient! Marcius texted me when he was on his way and was very prompt and respectful of my time. My XL husky, Love, was a bit nervous at first but Marcius made her feel super comfortable and cared for! He reassured me what he would be doing and my Love could definitely sense his gentle nature. She came out looking fresh and like a whole new dog. I would definitely book with Marcius again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **The only thing I noticed when booking is that they automatically add on a credit card charge when showing the total for the service. But I just called them to be sure that this charge would be removed and I wouldn’t have to pay that when the service was completed. I was sent an updated confirmation email with the new total for the service I chose + a govnt tax. The price for everything that is included, is amazing!
EDIT: Because the groomer reached out and felt bad about the situation. Please use translate app to communicate with the groomer/customer to avoid issues. FWIW he's very nice and our dog looked good after the grooming. TL;DR: Scheduling - 5/5; Grooming - 3.5/5; Having our dog run loose - 0/5 stars (yes we caught him almost immediately - all is well now) ------------------------- Location: Rancho Cordova/Gold River area I have been struggling with writing a review for this service for over a month. First, we have a regular mobile groomer that we have used for many years (Creative Paw Spa) and they are amazing. They handled our aging and ailing miniature schnauzers with so much kindness and compassion, and their groomer was heartbroken when we shared the news of their passing. When we adopted a new pup, we needed an appointment for him quickly, and Creative Paw Spa wasn't available. Because of how matted he was, we contacted Alpha Grooming. I had read all of their reviews previously, and decided to move forward because it sounded like they did good work and the only real issue was that the person that showed up didn't speak English and the grooming sometimes turned out wrong. Now I don't mind using a translator app and do so often at work so this wasn't a huge issue. What concerned me was that I read a Google review where they let a dog out of the van and it ran down the street. That's terrifying to me. However, this seemed like an isolated incident so I decided to contact Alpha to see if they had an appointment sooner than our regular groomer. I was surprised by the fact that they have a call center where they schedule you. They got as an appointment within 2 hours of us bring home our pup, which sounded amazing. If I was rating this in promptness and speed of scheduling it would be 5 stars. I will point out again that we had JUST adopted this dog. I told the woman in the office this. He barely new us and was coming out of a shelter so already he was stressed. The gentleman that showed up didn't speak English, but didn't say he didn't understand when my partner told him that we just adopted a dog and we didn't know how he was with grooming. We just wanted him to get a bath and have the mats on his legs cleaned up since the shelter had already shaved him down a lot. The grooming went ok. He came back clean so I can't complain very much aside from some clipper markings but this might be because our dog was already stressed and is very wriggly. I was anxious about the review of a dog escaping so after an hour of him being in the van I went to wait outside in my yard (fenced area) so I could collect him as soon as he was ready. When the door to the van opened the groomer brought our dog out without his collar and without his leash (although he had a little bandana on). I opened the gate to collect him but the groomer set him on the ground when he saw me. I yelled "NO STOP" as he was doing this but it was too late. Of course the dog started to run. Thank goodness he's a mild mannered little dog and when I yelled NO really loudly he rolled over and showed his belly. I took the pup inside and when I went back out I used the google translate app and told him the dog was adopted and we just brought him home and he cannot put a dog down outside a fenced area. He read this and said "Oh sorry, sorry" and put on his app "I didn't know. I thought he would run into the yard." I told him via the app that "It's not ok. Please return our collar and leash. He should have been wearing them." A person should NEVER presume what a dog is going to do. Even if it's the best behaved dog in the world, they can get startled by anything unexpected and run. I hope that in my sharing this experience it will warn others to please make sure the groomer understands. There's nothing wrong with using a Google translate app. Much better than your dog getting loose on the street over a misunderstanding. It has definitely taught me to triple check and have my translate app ready just in case.
Eric was so pleasant and came very well prepared. I have a golden doodle who needed a lot of work he was very patient. Got the job done We'll hire him again. I found myself a groomer for my Zeus. I recommend him highly he was great with my dog!
Maybe they do good quality work, but I wouldn't know because my groomer Deborah was 30 minutes late to my appointment and gave me zero notice on her location or status. When I called to check on my appointment, she told me she was just about to drive to my place from a location that was an hour away. I didn't have time to wait another hour on top of the 30 minutes already, so I had to cancel. After my experience and reading other reviews, I get the impression that this company does a poor job of scheduling and deploying their groomers, and then they expect you to be understanding of their tardiness while they don't care about respecting their clients.
I contacted them, I asked for a bath, a nail trim and a nail pad trim. I was trying to explain to have a sanitary trim done but the booking agent wasn’t understanding me so I told her to just skip that and just do the bath, nails, pads. The gentleman who was friendly enough, returned my purebred, show quality papillon dog with an actual shaved butt! When I saw this I was very upset. I sent an email explaining that this is a papillon and sometimes the hair does not grow back, so far he has a bare bottom still. They did like a surgical shave! Who does that to a small dog in winter with only hair. She popped off with something about we only give refunds for? I asked did I ask for a refund? No I didn’t. I was explaining so another animal did not receive this treatment. My dog is so cold he has now piddled in my house several times because apparently the bare and I mean bare bottom is too cold for him. It’s like they gave him a Brazilian! If the hair doesn’t grow back as this does happen with this breed they’ll hear from me again. They did not hear me, adhere to what I wanted. I tipped well and even allowed him to fill his water tank for free and her response to me was just rude. I dont recommend as they do not listen to what you’re saying, what you need. Terrible event. I normally groom him myself but I broke my femur in several places so I needed assistance. I’m just shocked that they shaved my dog completely when his pants as they are called were down to the floor. He’s a beautiful animal and now he looks ridiculous, he’s cold and peeing inside my house as he only has hair no undercoat. They should know the breeds and what they’re working on or at the very least listen to what is requested. I am not happy with this situation especially me not being able to clean the urine properly due to the femur break. It’s outrageous what they did. I have photos of course.
