If you're like me and your pup is part of your family, you want only the best for them. Finding a place where your pup feels happy combined with expert grooming skills and outstanding customer service makes it hard to settle for anything less. Aside from him hating a car ride, all I have to do is say "do you want to go see Janet?"and his ears perk up. Barks and Bubbles in Decatur said they knew how to do a standard groom for a Bichon, I even expected to pay more because it takes skill and experience. But I was horrified and in tears when I picked him up. All they did was basically shave him and give him somewhat of an uneven puppy cut. As you can see in the photo, he looked horribly chopped up That's when I started using Blue Sky, and would never consider anyone else. Janet has always done an excellent job and the staff have always shown that they actually care about the animals. I do hate that they quit doing boarding, because I've not found anyone comparable to them. So I work around not being able to board him.

Unprofessional and not transparent regarding the price upfront. We’ve been to many groomers in large metro cities and this has been by far the most expensive and were told my dogs were priced as “medium dogs” when they are 12 and 15 lbs. (my dogs have always been priced as small dog grooms). Then the owner backtracked and said that it was because my dogs were “a bit nervous and required more time on the table” than a dog larger than mine that’s been going to her since she was a puppy so was charged more (would have been $100 per groom!) Will definitely pass on doing business with them in the future. The primary reason for posting this review is to warn other customers that this business will charge you due to difficulty of your dogs grooms against other dogs and will not share that upfront. So as a customer you go in thinking you’ll be charged for small dog grooms and get a huge bill because your dogs were “a bit nervous”. (For context they had never been there before AND they were being compared to a family members dog that has known the owner since she was a puppy so of course she will be more calm around her than my pups). Just a warning for any prospective customers that they are not transparent about pricing and in our opinion have poor customer service. Also want to add that all of our past groomers have always said they love to groom our babies. They do get nervous at first but comply and are extremely sweet(have been told by numerous groomers). My guess is this place has gotten really over busy and level of service has gone down and they treat their customers like they don’t care to have their business because they’re a hot commodity. We will absolutely be taking our business where we feel welcomed and treated fairly!

I’ve been trying to find the best groomer to take care of my Yorkie, Bronx. His last visit to the big box store left him covered in sores, hair falling out, expression-less, and jagged call over. It was the worst haircut you could imagine. I literally cried because I did not recognize my boy…they cut everything off and left him looking like a zombie. I was forced to let him grow out so his haircut and facial features could be cut properly. It was a long few months. He was a blind, fluffy mess when he walked into Blue Sky Pet Spa, and Handsome Prince when he was carried out. I’d also like to note that all the other dogs that were coming and going were equally as beautiful. The facility was clean and fresh, and the dogs were calm and cared for. I was truly at ease with leaving Bronx in their very capable hands. The team at Blue Sky are more Artists than Groomers, they aren’t doing a standard, one cut fits all appointment. I love that new clients go through an interview-ish process to ensure they’re going to meet the clients needs. Feel confident about taking your fur babies to Blue Sky Pet Spa, I’m certain you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience with Bronx!
